I just saw an article regarding the fact that some tourism destinations are nervous that Sandy will affect Spring Break travelers. Since much of the North East was affected (devastated in some areas) by Sandy, many schools had closures which will result in a shorter or non-existent Spring Break. It seems that family vacation destinations (including WDW) are fearing a drop in revenue. So my question is:
If your child's school is no longer closed for Spring Break, will you still travel?

We were driving, so no non-refundable tickets for us. A lot of Long Island districts are canceling or shortening Feb. break. Personally, I think it will be a wasted week anyway. A lot of people will still go on their vacations and teachers will have classrooms that are only half full. If my husband were not a teacher, I would still have gone on with my plans. Like many on the DIS, even though we didn't have non-refundable tickets, we've been planning this trip since last February!
