I know there have been previous posts regarding saving "games" etc.

But I am on a mission to Penny Pinch my way to the Photopass + and maybe a fishing trip if i can manage it.

Basically my Hubby earns about 90% of the cash in our house. I am on Maternity Leave and after bills etc I am not left with a great deal. hence Hubby pays for the Disney trip.

I REALLY want the photopass + and do not wish to add to his ever growing disney pot of pay outs. So I am going to penny pinch my way to $149.00 HAHA!! :thumbsup2

We leave on 24th December and intend to add to loose change pot, ebay stuff as well anything else i can muster.

Now £100 isnt alot of money so i figue that this should be a relatively easy target to reach out of "nothing" money. As in money I either will not miss or didnt have to start with (ebay stuff).

Any if by some Miracle i make a little extra I will pay for a fishing trip for him in OKW we have done this here before. I caught the biggest fish and will never let him forget it. He will relish the idea of "winning" this time around.

I just wondered what other people have done or do to raise a few extra disney pennies.

That sounds a great idea, might have to pinch your idea.

My DH pays for everything as I (as he puts it) am a lazy good for nothing so and so, he jokes about this :)

I do a little job for a friend and earn about £12 a week so I could put this towards the PP+

I'm with you, Ebay here I come :) :thumbsup2

I read a tip once about saving that said any time you use a money off coupon, you put the amount saved into your savings fund. So, for example, I saved £3.90 on my shopping using coupons and BOGOF etc. and put £4 into the savings tin.

I just wish we got as many money saving coupons over here as are available in the US!

We also plan to do a boot fair before we go next year, as we've moved house and outsorted a lot of stuff we don't need. Hubby also does eBay if it's something that sells on there.

He has also snapped up bargain computer games and resold them at a profit after playing, but I wouldn't be able to do that as I don't know what they are worth :rotfl:

I try to pay for insurances and the like through Quidco.I am currently have £160 waiting to pay out.I have read of people not getting their money but so far we've been ok.

You sound just like me. I am saving extra hard for all those little extras, but my earnings are rubbish compared to hubbies! Someone I know gave me a good tip the other day... Every time you get a £2 coin as change in a shop, put it in a special pot. The £2's soon add up. I am going to start that this week. But otherwise, just selling stuff (on local Facebook pages to save on selling fees) :)

We save all our £2 coins. As DH has a cafe this can add up. They all go into a terramundi pot so we can't dip into them, we started doing this about February time and we've totally filled 1 pot and so we've started a 2nd even the boys contribute if they get given a £2 in their change. Hopefully by the time we go in Oct 14 we'll have saved enough for all our spends

We saved £2 coins for out trip last year. We have 'rules': you can't ask for £2 coins or refuse them in your change and you can't spend them. They soon mount up. I think we had around £1300 last time :) We are doing it again for 2015.:thumbsup2

I think I too will add all my £2.00 coins to my pot.

I got the kids to decorate an old biscuit tin with Disney stickers and then taped it shut. HAHA! No "borrowing" from it then.

Poor Hubby pays for everything so would juts like him to be able to enjoy something that HE hasnt actually had to pay for.

Our tin is quite heavy and I know its had a few quid put in there so hopefully there will be enough by the beginning of December for the PP+

Only 4 months away :scared1: :cool1: :scared1: :cool1:

AM super excited for this trip, will be our Sons 1st Christmas and our first Christmas away from home.

We are going to Idrive first so we are "dining with Shamu" for our xmas dinner :woohoo:

Me and my boyfriend are going next September and we have a pot in the kitchen then whenever we get ANY coppers or silver we just chuck it in there, we started in around may time and its ready full to the top!

This will pay for our airport parking and hotel the night before :-) (every little helps!)

Iv got 2 pots one honeymoon/disney then other wedding. Am a hairdresser so all my coin tips I get goes in my pocket and then put in the pots same when am doing Avon deliveries only notes go in bag to pay invoice all lose coins in pocket for the pots it soon adds up.

We have a large brandy bottle (ex British legion optic !) for silver and copper coins and a terramundi pot for £1 and £2 coins - been saving in this since March and it's almost full.

We're going to count them up this weekend and have a small wager on how much in each - the winner gets an extra £10 for spends!

Ooh let me know how much you've got!

I think I might start a bottle for £1 and £2, you feel dead proud after you've counted it all dont you.

I think that's a great idea.

DH works about 50 hours P/W and I work 30 plus doing my degree so at the moment I'm not earning much - my salary covers the mortgage and that's about it so I feel like DH basically ends up paying for everything, which I hate because I've always had financial independence :( we also have four kids so that doesn't come cheap lol!

If I can follow your tips I might feel better about saving for a trip next year :)

My boyfriend and I have agreed to do car boot sales as many Sundays as we can before our trip in November. We're hoping to pay for our park tickets with the money and put any extra into our 'spending' pot for food, drink, travel etc when we're there.

We did one last week and made £182 profit! We've done them in the past and made well over £100 nearly every time so hopefully we'll be able to cover the cost of our park tickets etc. I've just moved in with him so we've both had a massive clear out so have had lots to sell but it's totally worth doing as having Disney treats to pay for is a great incentive!

I have a wee ceramic pig, which is similar to a terramundi but has a wee hole in the bottom that I can open and get the cash out so I can use it again.

I put all silver coins in there that I have in my purse on a Friday afternoon, any £1 that I get during the week automatically go in there.

I've got a silver cardboard box which I sealed up with masking tape which is for all copper coins and the same thing applies, I empty my purse on a Friday night and it goes in there.

I'm trying to save arounf £250 per month from my salary as well, however recently with professional fees (I have a chartered status that I pay to keep each year  ) and a trip to another theme park its not been anywhere near as high as that!

I bought a couple of moneybox tins from the pound shop. You have to use a tin opener to get in them. I keep dropping 20p,50p,£1 and £2 coins in it. All other coins go into a huge cider bottle. DH keeps asking if I've seen the change he put down:rotfl: If you don't want it do go in the bottle/tin then don't take it out of your pocket:goodvibes
I will only cash in the tin and the cider bottle is for another day! Hopefully by the time we go in November it'll buy a few nice goodies!:)

We have one of these tins that we use for £1 and £2 coins, then anything between 1p and 20p goes in a giant plastic Coke bottle :)

We also have the giant plastic Coke bottle...it's surprising how quickly it adds up.

We are hopefully doing a carboot sale on Sunday (have to be honest I'm not worried about making money there I just want to get rid of everything from the spare room and have a bit of space!), I've got some stuff to pop on ebay too.

I used to do this I don't work n a salon any more. I miss my tip pots they used to fill up nicely on the summer holidays and Christmas especially.
