Pengin and Princess storm the castle! The Final Chapter!-O'Hana, Lost & Found, & DTD

I'm upset that we didn't see the advertisments for booking early while there to get free dinning. That's alright with the present situation it would have gotten all messed up.

You and Josh did a lot of things we were going to do had I'd been able to swing some of my first choices. It was fun to read about them.

Enough about your upcoming trips. Really!:snooty:

Which actually day was this?

Lynda!

Great installment! Love your "free day" but so sorry your ankle was giving you problems!?! Woo Hooty on the hole in one! So cool that you got the window seat a Cali Grill! I would love to see the fireworks from there. I will have to ask more questions about CM and CG as I get closer in to our "trip". (Hope we get to go again this year!) :)

Just made it over here Lynda. I am on page 4 and will need to come back to catch up. Great so far. I love your pics! So many TRs and so little time!

Lynda! I'm always late for the party...

PM me next time? Or have Stitch call me.

Cali Grill sounds amazing!

You were such a trooper to hobble around on that poor leg! Poor thing!

I love the pictures of YOU! You are so beautiful!!!!!

Oh, the photo above the wreath one of the trees??? Dont they look like Dixie Cup popscicles??? HA!

OK Lynda...One day down with no wheelchair. You're on the mend, but don't push it at AK! (I hope you didn't!)

Waiting for the next day! :dance3:

OK, it was Animal Kingdom day. I was on my feet the day before, so it made sense that I should try to stay that way, but I would be lying if I didn’t say I was a bit nervous about attempting this particular park. There was improvement. And when DH and I talked, we decided I could at least handle the walk up to the gates from the bus now, so we went to the bus stop without the wheelchair. When we arrived at AK, it was raining. Now, usually when we are at Disney and it rains on us, it is steady, but over quickly, and we usually have someplace we can take cover nearby to wait out the shower. Well, today the rain was heavy, and the first place we could take cover was the TINY gift shop outside the gates. That is still quite a walk from the bus stop in the rain. And I couldn’t move that fast! So, by the time we arrived there, it was packed, and we were soaked! DH bought ponchos, and we made our way into the park. Our first order of business here is always to get me a fast pass for Everest! Now, I am not sure I am ready to ride EE right now. I tend to put pressure on my feet (like I am pushing a brake) on some roller coasters, and I'm not so sure that's great for the ankle. But I LOVE this ride!!! So we headed for the fast passes. With fast pass in hand, we headed over to a stand somewhat nearby and got pastries and frozen coffee drinks for breakfast. MMMMMMM! We waited under cover of the DVC stand while it continued to rain. We chatted with the DVC guide there, and she called for us to see if our guide would be in on Friday. He would:yay: , and she made us an appointment. See, we wanted to talk to him about a couple of things. DH wants to be a DVC guide when we move to Florida, and he had some questions. And we had questions about the sale of the upcoming Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas. (Those are gonna be something else, and we wanted to know more!) We went back to EE, and I rode it. LOVE that ride! And afterwards, I noticed they had the baby yeti beanies in the gift shop! They had not had them the last time we were there, but I had seen a picture online, and they were so cute! DH asked if I wanted one, and I said I didn’t need it. He asked if I was sure, and I said yes, but we could always come back if I changed my mind. We went over to Finding Nemo the musical to see if the wait was long. It wasn’t. There were some people waiting outside, but not too many. They would start seating for the show in about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, that meant I had to stand while waiting, which was a little difficult, but I managed. I was NEEDED to sit by the time we were let into the builing though! When we entered, we sat down in front, next to the runway part of the stage.

122777847-M.jpg

There are little bubbles on the sides of the stage that Nemo swims through from time to time. So cute! The show was quite different than anything I have seen before. The performers were wonderful, and the new song is great! :cheer2: I enjoyed the show very much, and on the way out we got a little send off by some of DH’s favorite characters from the movie!:thumbsup2 We decided to go back to Kilamanjaro Safaris. We grabbed a fast pass when we got there, and I sat down while DH went to look for CM’s to accost for pins and get us drinks. I need to taked some Advil for my ankle! :scared: In about 20 minutes, we could use our fast passes, and we did, and wow! We love KS, and we’ve had some nice safaris, but this guide was GREAT! :thumbsup2 She was SO into it! I wish I remembered her name, but I don’t. She was so good though! She told us that holding hands was allowed, but dancing was not. :rotfl:

122778311-M.jpg

And we had some nice animal sightings too.

Our safari was cut short. (That always seems to happen to us!) When we got back to base camp, we decided to do some shopping before lunch, so we hit a few shops. Afterwards, we headed to Flametree Barbeque. We are fans of Flametree. We went there on our honeymoon, and it was good. We don’t go on every trip, but we do like it. I always get the ribs w/fries. YUM! Josh had the beef brisket sandwich and enjoyed it also. The challenge here is not to get attached by birds while eating or get BBQ sauce on Pal Mickey. :scared1: We succeeded at both! Then, we went to check the wait for It’s Tough to be a Bug. Five minutes. We’ll take it! We went straight in and grabbed a seat. OK, here was one of the funniest things we witnessed on our trip. At the end of the show…you know, the end of the show, a lady in the row in front of us literally JUMPED out of her seat and screamed, she got so startled. :lmao: And she just stood there staring at her seat. The people she was with LAUGHED! Then she sat down and tried to regain composure. She figured it out, of course, but not before providing an enormous amount of entertainment for us. :rotfl2: After the show, we got our wristbands for EMH and grabbed a pic of one of my faves!

122781375-M.jpg

We consulted our EMH times guide and chose to head over to Festival of the Lion King.

122782209-M.jpg

By the time we got there, we were still quite early, so we made a couple stops at Camp Mickey Minnie.

122781724-M-1.jpg

We headed back to the line for Festival, which was still not long. Soon they opened the line, and we headed down the path. Another short wait, and they started seating. We had a lovely seat for picture taking, an aisle seat. But of course, they asked us to squish to the middle, and no matter how full you think the row is, when they tell you to squish, someone always finds room! So, there we were - almost in the middle of the row! :sad2: Oh well. I still got a few good shots.

This is one my favorite shows in all the parks! Such great performers! Such great music, and such GREAT energy! I highly recommend it! After the show, we headed over to Dinosaur, and DH was riding this time. He has ridden it once, and he didn’t care for it. (Doesn’t like thrill rides, and the darkness bothered him) But we saw a show on how the ride worked, and now he was up for it! Super! We rode, and we were in prime location for a couple of VERY close calls, if ya know what I mean. ;) After the ride, we chatted with a couple of managers who we ended up following into Hester & Lester's, where we saw them playing with the potato heads! :rotfl: They were funny! We headed back to EE to see if there was a short wait so I could get one more ride in before we left. Ten minutes, and it wasn’t really that long even. Another ride, and this one was after dark. Uh, VERY COOL! The view from the top of the first hill was AMAZING! :cloud9: I could see the big hat! When I got off the ride, DH had bought me the baby yeti beanie. On the way out of the park, I attempted a night time shot of Everest without a tripod. The results were OK, but not great. I’ll need to bring a tripod there someday.

We took the bus back to SSR and changed for dinner - at Boma! We drove over to AKL. We were a bit early for dinner so we looked around the lobby a bit, and I took a few pictures. Here's one I like of the tree.

122791504-M.jpg

Then, we checked in for dinner, sat on a bench that was a bit bouncy with a guy who couldn’t stop shifting, we bounced and waited, and bounced and waited, and finally we were seated in the dining room. It was worth the wait folks. Now, I love trying new things, and I found a few things I really enjoyed including the Vegetable Lentil Kofta, and DH’s Chicken Corn Porridge soup. But dessert really took the cake. (Get it? Took the CAKE? :lmao: I know, I know, that was bad, but oh well, if you’re reading this, your still reading. ) The desserts were amazing! There were a few that were particularly good, including those Zebra Domes! :cloud9: MMMMMMMMMMMM, and when I went back to get another one, there was a girl (about 10 yrs old) FILLING a plate with them! :scared1: I though of UtahMama’s trip report. I thought, OK, this girl is gonna be really mellow! I hope she was sharing with the rest of her table. So, when dinner was over we headed back to the van and over to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk. On the way out of the parking lot, DH had me take a photo of this sign we saw on the way in. Uh, what were they thinking? (Around here, these signs say "bump".)

122792732-M.jpg

OK, on to Jellyrolls! This is our other favorite night time spot at WDW. On the Boardwalk, there is this dueling piano, sing-a-long bar called Jellyrolls. If you haven’t been there, it’s like this: There is a stage with 2 grand pianos facing each other. The pianos have jars for tips, and you write your request on a cocktail napkin and place it on the piano with a tip. The piano players take turns playing the requests, and everyone sings along. It is GREAT FUN!!! And my favorite piano player there is Scotty! He does this FABulous version of Rainbow Connection. :goodvibes OK, I hate to give away too much about it for those of you who haven’t been there, so I will just say…he uses a prop. (PM me if you REALLY have to know.) There are two pairs of piano players on any given night, and they alternate sets. Well, when we got there, Scotty wasn’t on stage, but as soon as he came out, we requested Rainbow Connection. There were quite a few napkins already on the piano, but towards the end of his set, he pulled out the prop he uses for the song. I had been looking at DH, and I knew he wasn’t sticking around until Scotty came back out again, so I was really hoping he would play it. He didn’t! Oh well. I was disappointed, but I told DH I really needed to hear it next time we came, and I moved on. So, we headed back through the Boarwalk lobby...
122793544-M.jpg

on to valet and picked up the van, headed back to the hotel, iced my ankle, and hit the hay. Tomorrow, we would be back at Magic Kingdom. We didn’t have tons left to do there, and we had our second MVMCP so this should be a relatively easy day for us. :thumbsup2 That is a very good thing because the terrain at Animal Kingdom was rough and not nice to my ankle.

Yup, I gave my 2 year old DD 3 Zebra Domes :confused3 WHAT????

I didn't know! Thanks for the shout out...Hee hee

I just loved EE and Lion King and everything you did! I am glad your ankle is slowly getting better. Poor thing!

Thanks for the Head's Up! Glad to be first!:woohoo:

Sounds like great fun ... glad your ankle is doing better. I hope it lasts!

Thanks! As you can probably tell, if you are reading this, it lasted at least one more day. Stay tuned! :)

I'm upset that we didn't see the advertisments for booking early while there to get free dinning. That's alright with the present situation it would have gotten all messed up.

Which actually day was this?

Yeah, that wouldn't have worked out to well for ya! :rotfl:

Glad you could live it through me. What did we do that you were wanting to do?

:rotfl:

The "free" day was Tuesday, and AK day (which I just posted) is Wednesday. You're trying to figure out where you were when I was doing what I was doing, aren't you? That's what I do when I read your trippie! ;)

Lynda!

Great installment! Love your "free day" but so sorry your ankle was giving you problems!?! Woo Hooty on the hole in one! So cool that you got the window seat a Cali Grill! Thanks! Cali Grill was really nice! :) Ask away! I hope you get to go again too! Weren't you looking at September? Ya know, we check in on Sept. 28th. ;)

You trip report is getting me all excited for mine. :)

Isn't that the idea? :goodvibes I LOVE me some trip reports!

Just made it over here Lynda. I am on page 4 and will need to come back to catch up. Great so far. I love your pics! So many TRs and so little time!

:rotfl: Obviously, you aren't the only one! I was cracking up at that 10 yr old!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Congrats on being first!

Lynda I finally read it all, why didn't you tell me about this before? What a great TR so sorry about your ankle but it's seems to be getting better now hope it stays that way. Also like everyone else has said what wonderful photo's your wishes photos has made me want to go to a special WDW party even more.

Two for the price of one..........excellent!

First...I'm so sorry for your ankle?!? All the walking is hard on my ankles, knees, legs, even when I am not injured. But you did all my favorite things at AK. Mimi and I had a wonderful morning there with just the two of us and we just walked around to all the beautiful spots by the water, taking pictures. It was awesome!

Another glowing review of Boma. OK...forget about the family....we are going next time even if I'm the only one who eats. (I do plan these trips you know!) Can't wait to see the AKL and eat at Boma!

Jellyrolls sounds like fun. I like the Boardwalk so may have to give it a try next time. Good job, Lynda!

Hope you and Josh are having a good weekend and have "dug out" by now. ;)

:rotfl: There's been a link in my signature for quite some time now! I guess you didn't see it whilst reading the peep thread!:rotfl: Just kidding! Thanks for coming over and reading! Glad you like it. I usually post on the Peep thread when I add an installment. Thanks again. :goodvibes

Thanks Melinda! :goodvibes I actually have bad knees and have previously sprained both ankles. I also had hurt one of my knees walking Jasper back in the fall, so I think you can see one of the reasons I joined the Peep thread here. I'm really tired of getting hurt! Anywho, when this trippie is over, I will give an update on how the ankle is doing these days, but I don't want to give away anything about the trip. ;) Two and a half more days to report on!

As for AK, we really do love this park. We usually end up there on a rainy and/or really hot day, but we have our must-dos (EE, Festival, Kilamanjaro Safaris, It's Tough to be a Bug, a little Camp Mickey Minnie), and we are pretty good at getting them done. When we can, we do more, and it is a BEAUTIFUL park! :goodvibes

I'm tellin' ya - Zebra Domes bay-be! YUM!

Jellyrolls is great! Loads of fun! :thumbsup2

We are dug out! :) We have no front walk yet still, but it was is in the 40's this week so far, so hopefully soon we will have it back.

Thanks for reading!

OMG...another glowing review for Boma! I am trying to pick 1 fancy restaurant for my trip, as we don't have the dining plan and I don't know how many of my friends will want to pay that much money for a meal! :confused3 I am, however leaning towards Boma! :thumbsup2 It is the Zebra Domes that are the selling point!!! :rotfl2:

Glad to see you got through AK without the wheelchair! :cheer2: You're on the mend!!!

What happens next?!? popcorn::

I'm all caught up! Lovin' your trippie! Did DH's hands get sore from wheeling you? DH ended up wheeling me for 3/4 of a day due to my bad back and he said the grips gave his hand burns... anyways i'm glad ur ankle is feling better...looking forward to more of the story!:thumbsup2

okay now i am all caught up on two installments that is just how it goes with me , i am glad your ankle was feeling a lil better i love your pictures .. beautiful, gorgeous wish ya were here, (do ya know what movie that is from?:listen:) anywhoo can't wait for the next installment...
