Pen trading....

Is pin trading as big at DL/DCA as it is at WDW? My kids trade at WDW, and I know that they are going to want to at DL/DCA. If it's not that big then I want to be able to prepair them for what to expect.

They are 8 and 6 and used to CM's stopping them to trade. Is it the same kind of thing at DL/DCA.

You mean "pin" trading? If so, yes they do it at DL, but it is not as prevalent as in WDW. All the CM's at DL wear the pins and will trade when asked.

You know, it's weird, I noticed many more castmembers in WDW wearing pins then here at DL. My favorite place to trade is from the castmember pin books. You're allowed two trades and there is tons to choose from, below are the times and locations.

Frontierland (near Westward Ho Trading Co.) in Disneyland® Park - 10 AM to 2 PM
Golden State (near P.T. Flea Market) in Disney's California Adventure® Park - 2 PM to 6 PM
Disney's Pin Traders in the Downtown Disney® District - 6 PM to 10 PM

Thank you so much! the kids have fallen in LOVE with trading at WDW. I just didn't know what to expect and now I can prepair them a bit.

I've never been to DW so I can't compare but Pin Trading is very big at DL. There are CM's with lanyards, with hip lanyards and they put books out too. We are avid pin traders, it's so much fun!

DS started trading during our 1st trip to DL two summers ago. We found that the locals were very eager to trade with him and get him hooked, much more so than the CMs. We were shocked at how friendly people in line for the attractions were and how easy it was so strike up a conversation and during two of this little conversations people actually gave my DS a pin and wanted nothing in return. Truly awesome!

Can't wait to experience some of that friendliness in 2 1/2 weeks!
