The pics from China are once again amazing. Really. And, I agree, the similarities between WDW and the real deal are pretty amazing. Imagineers are amazing at their job (of course, I'd like to see their inspiration for AK).

(With all the Peep Fest excitement, I almost forgot about this upcoming trip!!)

You know, I didn't even think of all of the, ummm...not so Disney friendly aspects that go around with "Peep Fest" written on our shirts. Maybe we could have a smiley that looks kinda like this except he doesn't have to look like he's gonna be sick.

I've put it down as tentative, depending on if I do anything for graduation the year before (which I probably won't if I get into my first pick college). But I'm gonna see if my parents would wanna do the cruise cuz it'll be their 30th anniversary and they went the last time for their 20th. Wow...how the time does pass. And I'm also trying to get my friends in on the fest.

for counter service meals...have you tried earl of sandwich or wolf gang pucks express at DTD?? I loved the earl of sandwich and have heard really good reviews of wgp express.
I'm in the same boat...I know where I want to stay and eat but I am holding off sending all of that info to my family until 2010 rate codes come out. They like disney but are not obessed planning like we are here on these boards. I was showing my parents all the clothes and swim shorts i have gotten for Caleb soo far and I think they thought i might be a little nuts and of course they were all Disney! Though it was my mom who suggested matching t-shirts and it was me who said NO!!! She thought it would be easy to reconigize all the members of our party and I said thats what cell phones are for!! I can tell you we are not a matching t-shirt type of family!

I totally forgot about Earl of Sandwich.

I told my friend Gene we'll probably reserve when the rates come out at the end of Augustish. We'll probably have a better idea of who's going and where people are staying as well.

People think I'm nuts!!!!

I'm pretty sure you've done Earl of Sandwich before - a definite favorite of mine. But, we loved our food at Wolfgang Puck Express on this last trip.

And yes! I remember Coming to America!! I even saw it at the theater.

Thanks for the reminder about EOS. I think I didn't put it on there because it was a given...or maybe cuz I had my first senior moment....

I think I saw it in the theater and more than once.

WDW did do any amazing job at replicating the Temple. Beautiful pictures!

I don't think we can truly appreciate how detailed the Imagineers are until we see the real thing and go wow it looks just like the one at WDW....

And I don't think you are crazy for planning a trip, for 2012. I would totally plan a trip that far in advance...lol I have my trips planned for next year, and even a family trip for 2011. Hope you are having a great weekend!

Loved the China Pix !! WDW did an awesome job with it's replica !! I did try CHH this May based on your reccomendation of the place and I was impressed !! It is a very nice counter service place alsmost has a TS feel !! I had the fish and it was good !! I am not up to that in my TR yet !! It does seem like the 2012 trip is gaining momentum!!!

Okay.......many of you say it's a long way off til 2012, but let's look at it this way...

My PTR will go until Feb 2010....
Then my TR will start....
If I remain true to form, my TR will last til May of 2011.
By that time Peep Fest planning will probably be starting to go full force!!!!!
Then June 2012 will be here before you know it.

All right, let's think about this....

Peep Fest planning is going to be a huge undertaking. So far it looks like we're going to need:

*Who's going and where are they staying thread
*The WDW contingent thread
*The DCL contingent thread
*Resort roommates/Cruise cabinmates wanted thread
*Grand Gatherings thread
*Dining and ADR coordination thread
*Peep picture idea thread
*Peep Fest tee-shirt design thread
*Flush rating crew thread
*Flat Peep thread (support group for those unable to attend)
*Individual Peep PTR threads

Jordan, I think you need to have a talk with OhMari... you're going to need an entire sub-BOARD for this PTR!!

Loved the Behjing pics! I mentioned Peep Fest to Jim today - wondering if we could change the family trip to June. His response? "Maybe we'll just go twice!" I think we're in! I'm thinking we would maybe meet up at the end of your first week, then join you for the cruise. Now he has to get a 2nd job to pay for it!

I can't believe how similar the China pics are to WDW's version. Very neat.

I was a bit surprised there was no movie at the Temple of Heaven in China....

Yes, you did just name every TS restaurant in WDW! I want to try Jiko soon -- I wish, in retrospect, we had made a reservation for it when we stayed at AKL.

Oh, how I remember Eriq La Salle in Coming to America! And Will Ferrell in Old School! I always think of that scene when I see ribbon dancers!

The similarities between the Epcot version and the real version are uncanny! Once again the Imagineers outdid themselves!

I've eaten at Jiko 2x 6 years apart and both times were excellent. My friends still talk about the 2 1/2 hour extravaganza last year.

Did you mention Sanaa?! I'm definitely going to go eat over there once I go on a WDW without THE MOST PICKY EATER EVERRRR! I want to go for the marathon weekend in January but yet again...I will be with a different very picky eater! Why cant we all just enjoy some yummy food?!

I love the photo of the heels. That was one of the things I noticed when I went to Japan. There were girls wearing stiletto boots hiking on the cobblestone stairs around Kiyomizu-dera. I felt very frumpy in comparison.

I know...maybe the power fist smiley will show up someday.....hopefully...

I don't how you ladies do anything in high heels. I have nothing but respect for you in that regard.

CHH did take away my favorite ham sandwich, but the menu still looks good and I really like the chili..so it stays on my list. I'm glad you liked it as well. I love the theming more than my other MK fave, Cosmic Rays..

2012...Heavy duty planning will probably start late 2010.....mark your calendar.

You've actually thought some of this out. I, too, thought a bit about some potential stuff that needs to be organized and how it gets discussed on the DIS....We may need to develop a website just for this trip. We did it for our DCL trip in Dec 2005. It worked out really nice.

I do have an idea of one event we could do at WDW:

One would be to have a Peep picture taking hunt. You spend 1 hour looking for peeps in a specified park and then bring your pix back to be judged.....

Hey Jordan! I am caught up... Nice car... DH's Mom has one, although she actually just traded it in today for a 2010 Camry... I drove the 4runner more than she did since I kinda drive her around EVERYWHERE... I really liked it... Made me want an SUV...

As Terry said, 2012 is our 10 year anniversary so that could totally work... I told my parents I need them to watch the brats, oh, I mean kids... Mom about freaked when I said 2 weeks, lol, she said she would do 1 week... So it looks like we will be hitting up MIL for the other week...

I remember watching Coming to America when I was like 9... My Mom came home from work one day and I piped off with a "I am happy to be in Amed-e-ca!" In perfect accent... I think she wet her pants...

No worries about being late. It's really not too far into the planning stages of my 2010 trip...so join on in...

I'm hoping optimistically for maybe 30 DISers and families to make it to the WDW portion and maybe 10 for the cruise.....I'd be way happy with more.

I'm kinda thinking about trying to go in with my cousins and a few friends and get the 2 bedroom suite again on the cruise. It would be ideal for hosting get togethers. It would just be expensive......
