You can't fly out of Love. I mean, you can, but only to somewhere else in Texas or a contiguous state - Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, what am I forgetting? New Mexico? Anyway - that's the Wright Amendment. They are slowly trying to expand things and now you can fly to St. Louis. Nifty. Now if only there was some reason I needed to fly to St. Louis.
To finish this boring bit of trivia - when they first built DFW it was in BFE and they were afraid no one would fly into/out of it because it was too far from downtown. So, Jim Wright (rep from TX and former speaker of the house) passed a federal law preventing flights from Love Field unless (blah blah blah, see above). It's just stupid now because zillions of people fly out of DFW every day and it's actually very centralized with the way Dallas has grown.
It irritates the heck out of me because we live 5 minutes away from Love Field, but unless we're going to New Orleans it does us no good. And Southwest is headquartered here.

Interestingly, they are the ones most against repeal of the Wright amendment - they have no competition on those short routes out of Dallas.
