Peel and eat shrimp....YUCK!

You been caught! I'll let it slide this time, but if I see dis again, yer cajun carry'n card is mine. Don't think you can hide either. I grew up in dat der town of Paradis and I know all da good hidin places.

Oh Noes!! Ma peoples dun founded meh! Dis'ers better watch.. Too many St. Charles parish people on here could result in irreversable consequences!

It doesn't bother me at all to peel shrimp. We eat shrimp all the time, sometimes steamed in which case we peel and eat, sometimes grilled or in a pasta dish. I've got to clean them either way, so makes no difference.
I'm guessing a lot of people would have trouble with cracking and cleaning blue crabs... that's way more messy but so worth it!
:goodvibes

yes. fine - but...

does size matter?

I think the little shrimp I've eaten at Disney in the peel and eat do need the flavor additives... but truth be told - I'd so much rather have the larger prawns! these itty bitties matter little!! Bring out some big shrimps!!
Yes size does matter. You really shouldn't boil the large ones b/c the tend to get too tough. The smaller ones do better. General rule of thumb is that if they are bigger than your thumb they should be fried or grilled.

I love peel and eat shrimp but not in Disney, they are small, not de-veinded and farm raised so then aren't what I am used to eating up here in Boston. I stay away from P&E shrimp in Disney :)
See above!!

pffft Old Bay dats kiddie stuffs

Darn tootin' cher! Gimme some o' dat Zatarain's boil any day of da week! One of my mama's proudest moments was when I learned to peel crawfish, tie my shoes, and blow a bubble all in one week. (Sadly, that's really not saying much for her children's accomplishments! Forget our college degrees and successful careers! She was just excited that she didn't have to peel my crawfish for me anymore, lol.)

Lemme told ya a story..
I went live up north in VA and NC for a while.. We went eat seafood around the time I first arrived and they tried to pawn this Old Bay crock on me.. what a waste of crabs! Until I moved back, I had ma mom send me the zataran's and the only boiled seafood i ate was the seafood i boiled in my front yard.

:thumbsup2

lol...to me this is less barbaric than eating a huge turkey leg & sucking on the tendons (while you're walking around Disney of course!) :rotfl:

Oh, I love the turkey legs, too. I feel like a primitive and hungry cave man type person when I rend the sweaty steaming leg meat. Yum! This, too, makes the wife slightly ill, but she tolerates it.

I love me some shrimp, but it MUST be cleaned. Can't be eating any shrimp poopy. :rotfl2: My husband refuses to go back to Ohana for dinner because of the shrimp. I'm like, "but the salad and the bread pudding and the dumplings" and he shuts me down everytime. :confused3

Not to leave out the cup of etouffee. Oh, i almost forgot , it also came with this squash and shrimp dressing...soooo good. YUM. Thanks, now I am banning myself from this thread. Not good for me.;)
