I got a pedicure on Friday. My last one was December 8. The amount of rough and callused skin that she muscled off was embarrasing--on the verge of mortifying. :scared: How long do you wait in between your pedicures and do you exfoliate in between? If so, how often?

I'm the wrong person to answer. I hate for people to touch my feet. I usually only go once a year for a pedicure because of my hatred. My skin crawls during the entire time. :confused3

When I was in my early 20's, I was having a pedicure done by a pregnant person. She looked to be late in her pregnancy and was having a hard time leaning over to work on my feet. So she put my foot on her belly to do the pedicure. For some reason, that really freaked me out.:scared1: Ever since then, I hate pedicures.

no more pedicures for me......the last one I had 2 years ago gave me a nasty fungus infection from the foot bath (I always bring my own tools).....took me months to clear up......I do my own now. Since I had to visit a podiatrist to get the medication he also fitted me for inserts. Ever since using them I have never had a problem with any type of rough or calloused skin. Doc said most times it is because of the way that we stand that causes the roughness and callouses.....proof positive because my feet look great and I don't need to do anything other than polish for the pedi!

I've never had a pedicure as I don't like people touching my feet. Did you try a Ped Egg? These are great. They removed a lot of the dry skin from my feet I couldn't believe how well they worked. You can buy them at most drugstores for about $10 or you can go on their website and they are having a buy one get one free promo right now (saw it on tv).

Please share how you do your own? What do you use? I HATE going for pedicures, but I would like to have soft feet.

Am a very lucky to have soft feet. I usually get 3 or 4 a year. I LOVE getting one.:thumbsup2

First I got one of the tools they use at the salon with the razor, it is easy to use and I have never cut myself, but besides that I have an amazing trick for feeling good and having the softest feet. Take vicks vapor rub, rub it on the bottom of your feet before bed and put cotton socks on. This works amazing. I have even done this for my elbows, I put the vicks on my elbows and cut tops off of a pair of socks that would fit over my elbows wow are they soft when you get up in the morning and your head it open. I haven't done it with vassaline but the vicks just helps prevent stuffy head.

I have never had a pedicure in my life and I am 43.

The only people touching my feet will be me! I also don't like people touching my feet. :scared:

I usually have one every 4-6 weeks in the summer, but in the winter, I don't go as often, maybe 2 times in the Oct thru Mar. Which is probably the wrong idea--My feet get worse in the winter being closed up in shoes.

I use a hydroplane on my feet at least 3 times a week. I hate crusty heels. I don't have a ped-egg but my tool does the same thing. I also use this stuff from Avon, which scrubs, and exfoliates my feet. I've been out of it for a while though.

I usually do them every 4-6 weeks in the summer, sometimes they last longer than other times. In the winter, I don't usually bother since I'm not wearing flip flops and sandals.

I love getting pedicures, but boy do I wish I could give myself a pedicure. It get's costly sometimes.

I´ve never had a pedicure in my life and I´m 30. I have a gift card for a spa and have been thinking of using it for a pedi ;)

Every 2 weeks religiously from April through October. Then I slack. I need one desperately, first day over 45 I'll be getting one.

And Vicks is a wonder! I have tendonitis in my ankles, loading the feet up with Vicks and sleeping in the socks actually takes away massive stiffness. I also swear it works better on the feet to clear up congestion than on the chest.

You'll get hooked!

In the summer, I feel incomplete without a pedicure. I go every 3 or 4 weeks.

I don't get pedicures in the winter. To me it's a spring/summer thing. I always look forward to my first pedicure of the year because it means spring is here!

Pedicures (and manicures) are my splurge, my get away. I get my nails done every week and my feet every other.

I own a salon/day spa and its for this reason I only use disposable tub liners....

I have never had a pedicure and I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with the germ/fungus possibilities. However, I got a ped egg a few days ago, and it was amazing. My feet are so much softer now by just doing that and putting some lotion on them. I'm figuring on buffing with it once a week (probably using the grater thing only once a month).

Every 3 weeks...LOVE Pedicures.
In between..I occasionally use the paddle thingy in the shower and cream at nite.:confused3 I am not diligent enough tho.
