I received both of these items as gifts, but will return one. I'm undecided as to which one to keep. The smartwatch is nice, but the watch will need to be charged every 2 days. I currently have a Fitbit Flex and always wear a watch. The Charge HR would be an upgrade to the Flex. If you have the Pebble or Charge HR, how do you like it?

Which one would you return? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I have a Charge HR. Mine needs to be charged every 2-3 days. If you're happy with the Flex, I'd keep the Flex. My HR doesn't record flights of stairs about half the time. I haven't really been able to tell how accurate the steps are, but if I'm carrying something it doesn't seem to record any at all. Also, the HR function doesn't keep a record other than tracking your "resting" HR when it determines you're sleeping and your max HR when you log a period of exercise. I know some people buy it thinking they'll get more info on HR, but you have to manually check to see where it is throughout the day, the app doesn't tell you. If any of those are the reasons you'd want the HR, then I'd see if the smartwatch also has those functions.

Thank you for your response, SMD. Your information gave me something to think about. I'm happy with the Flex, but thought the HR would be much better. I didn't realize the HR had to be charged every 2-3 days.

I was leaning toward returning the watch, but will return the HR instead. :-)

I think they say that it only needs to be charged every 5 days, but mine has never made it that long. I previously had the Ultra and found it needed to be charged more often than they stated as well. I do check it fairly often, 2-3 times per hour sometimes, so that probably brings down the battery life some.

I don't know anything about the Pebble watch so no help there.

I do have the Fitbit Surge and the One. We can't wear anything below the elbow at work (I work ICU) so I use the one at work. I love the information it give me and feel it is very accurate.

Hubby gave me the Surge for my birthday because I am a runner and I love it for running. Accurate GPS, good HR info, other great running info.

I don't think the Surge is good for everyday info. If I am pushing the grocery cart it will not pick up steps because my arm is not moving. I talk with my hands so if I am riding in the car instead of driving it picks up "steps" while I am talking.

If your happy with your flex and would use the extra info from the watch I would go with the watch. If the watch really would not give you anymore info than the flex then I would trade them both in for something else.

NONE of the Fitbits are accurate for stairs.

If you turn off the watch function, turn of "sync automatically" and do not wear it to bed you can get 5 days from the Charge HR. Of course that's not how it's advertised and you have to looking on their forums to find this info. My first one was a complete dud, it would give me an outrageous amount of steps or only give me very few and would not keep a charge. The exchange is much better. It seems fairly accurate to me, will occasionally miss a flight of stairs but not all that often. I haven't had issues with it not crediting while carrying things or pushing a grocery cart, it seems fine in those areas. That said, I admit I'm disappointed with it. I was hoping to use it to get a better calorie count for workouts but I can do the exact work out and get hugely different numbers. My Zip was pretty consistent in that regard. I paid almost triple the price for this compared to the Zip and the info I was hoping to gain is almost non existent.
