Several months ago, on a work-at-home thread, someone mentioned Pearson Scoring. I applied online, got an email from them a month ago asking if I was still interested, and got an offer to score in April and May! Thanks to whoever that was who mentioned it. If you do this, could you PM me and give me some idea of exactly how it works? Any info in advance will be helpful. It comes at a great time -- we're gone past the stretch point and are in the breaking point!

i just googled it tonight and applied.

I just went and applied. It said the pay is $12/hour and they have paid training

is this something you can do at home on your own time, or do you have to go somewhere and score with others?

Hi -I got the email last Thursday or Friday with the offer. It says you can work anywhere from 20-40 hours each week, but you have to schedule yourself ahead of time. It's all done at home, on the computer I'm assuming since it states you have to have a solo email account, not a joint one. This is scoring school standardized test essays. I think I went to pearson.com. Good luck to anyone else who applies!

This sounds like one of the most reasonable stay at home jobs I've seen on these boards! I applied but I wouldn't be suprised if I am not contacted as my degree is in business with a minor in communication instead of education. I would love a chance...we'll see! Congrats and good luck to all who apply!

I score for Pearson, this is my second year with them and love it! I wish it was year round. :)

What position are you applying for to score for them?

Since this is done online, do you have to live near one of the locations they have listed in the resume section?

I just got hired as well...no you don't have to live near one of the locations to do online scoring.

No, I score from home and have never been in a Pearson building. They have opportunities at their scoring centers and for work-at-home (I think it's called "remote scoring.")

I hope I didn't select the 'wrong' thing to grade. I could do several of them.

I haven't had a choice between projects, they offer one and I either accept or decline. I'm training on one right now and have 2 more lined up, fortunately the timing is working out. :thumbsup2

When I applied, it asked what kind of projects I was best qualified to score, and it only gave one option. I could have done several of them well. I hope I didn't pick the 'wrong' option.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh....I get it now! :goodvibes I have a BS in Math so I chose math (duh right?) and had to take some upper level math tests. I pm'd you.

I am only finding the info on working in Pearson centers (and there are none near me). Where is the info on scoring at home?
