Part of every trip to Seaworld for myself and my girls is at least one trip to pick a pearl to get a piece of jewelry. For our family it has become tradition. When we were there over Christmas we were speaking with the girl behind the counter while she set our pearls. She mentioned that the pearl place would be closing this spring.:sad::sad:

I guess we can do Japan at Epcot - but it is just not the same. Since it will be closed when we go back - we went twice this time, :cheer2: but I am really going to miss it.

I believe the actual pearl store will stay open, I know it has been open. It is only the divers that have been removed.

The girl who worked in the store said the whole thing was closing this spring. I hope she was wrong and you are right...

I'm not so sure they will close the shop. They have redone the sky tower queue line to make it now exit inside the gift shop which will pick up traffic in the store. Will it still sell pearls I am not sure about that but foot traffic will be up in the store.

The pearl divers last day will be Feb 14

As of now yes you can still buy clams as the pearl divers are still there until Feb 14. We wont know until the next day if you can buy the oysters or not. Would be nice if they found a way to still sell oysters and have the opening ceremony. That was always neat.

So glad we did it last summer when we were there! Our daughter, then 3, loved interacting with the diver who pulled her oyster out for her. Such a fun memory (and we were able to capture it on video too)!
