THe best PB sundae..at least in my opinion!

DH & I have never been to Beaches & Cream, and we finally made it there in december...I had the "No way Jose" sundae...All I can say is :cloud9:

It is a peanut butter/chocolate lovers dream.
Just wanted to share :goodvibes

We've always wanted to try Beaches and Cream just for an ice cream but so far haven't made it. I've heard many reports of long lines at the to-go counter and few places to sit. So gotta ask others here! How is it to stop by for an afternoon ice cream? We're headed there in 9 days so crowds should be moderate.

We stopped in about 1:30, on a froday afternoon, and it was not too crowded at all. We were able to sit at the counter inside. All toher times we have tried to get in there, (usually in may), the line has been out the door,so we did not bother. Check it out maybe between 1 & 2. :thumbsup2

It depends. If you can get there when they open around 11, you have the best shot of getting a table. We stopped there around 2ish on a day in April, moderate crowds, and there was a wait for a table and no seats at the counter. I think it was full of people from Stormalong Bay taking a break. There was no line at the to-go counter though so we just got a shake to go. I don't think their whole menu is available to go, however.

No Way Jose is quite yummy!

I have eaten at Beaches and Cream on several different trips. The longest we had to wait was 50 minutes for dinner (checked in somewhere between 5:30 & 6:30). Most waits are 10 to 20 minutes. This is based on trips taken in early December.

If you are on the Dining Plan and have 4 people in your party you can put together the 4 of your desert options from your TS meal and order the Kitchen Sink. It is quite fun to do with kids who think their parents have gone mad letting them eat that much ice cream and toppings. When I was a kid I would have loved something like that, so I try to do a Kitchen Sink if I'm taking kids with me, especially friends who are going for their first time.

If you are in the market for the No Way Jose or any of the other specialty sundaes served at B&C, they are not available from the to-go counter, which sells only cones, small sundaes and drinks.

To get food or a specialty sundae, you must be seated in the restaurant.

We have a few reports of this, but only a few. Most reports are that the Kitchen Sink is completely excluded from the dining plan. All the other reports we have are that the combined credits must be adult credits; children's credits cannot be used.

Does anyone know how it compares to the Gold Rush sundae at Ghirardelli? I love that one!

Thanks for posting this tidbit, I forgot to mention that.
We tried to get one from the to-go counter, and we had to be seated in order to order the sundae. All of the tables were full, but the counter seating was completely open.

YUMMY :love::cloud9:

I LOVE the No Way Jose Sundae and get it everytime we are at Beaches and Cream. When we stayed at BCV in May we went there on our arrival day because we were all starving....everyone else had the cheeseburgers, I on the other hand had the sundae. We will be staying at BCV again in a few weeks and I can't wait to have it....I dream about it sometimes :goodvibes.

I just had my first a couple weeks ago!

:lovestruc:cloud9::lovestruc

That's one serious sundae! And big! Gobs of peanut butter and fudge... you could have peanut butter with ever single bite! :worship:

It took a while for me to get it because my family isn't into peanut butter and I never thought I could down one myself... well... when eating there with hubby that one night last month, I proved myself wrong!

It was funny too, as hubby ordered a mere two-scoop sundae. Some people at the next table were asking their waiter how big the sundaes were and he drew attention to our table for a comparison - I was the girl with the giant sundae, and my manly husband sat with the conservative one... I was already self-conscious ordering that thing by myself! And three scoops compared to two scoops shouldn't be a huge difference, but it sure is at Beaches and Cream!

And just so you know, crowds are unpredictable there. We went one summer evening, after peak dinner hour but trying to get there before IllumiNations was over, hoping to avoid crowds. We were told about 40-45 minutes, but were offered counter seats after about 30 minutes, which we took. About 10 days before Christmas we went immediately following IllumiNations, expecting to wander around a bit while we waited for a table, but they could sit us immediately at a table... or gave us the option of waiting 1 minute to get a booth. Well... a 1 minute wait for something in Disney? No prob. We asked the girl there if this was odd to be this quiet - she said they never know. Sometimes there's an hour wait, and sometimes hardly anyone shows up.

I hope you have no problem when you go! Totally worth the wait though if you're ordering that creamy, peanut buttery taste of heaven. :goodvibes

Since we're going to stay at Beach Club next week, I suppose we'll have to return to that heavenly ice cream parlor... ;)
