I checked out that site. I realized I had posted there before, sometime last year. Anyway, those threads on there ARE helpful, thanks! I saw a reference back to this thread too LOL.
I was told the Mickey ice cream bars are NOT safe. Is there anywhere safe for the peanut allergic to have ice cream at WDW? Besides buying a box of Breyers and eating it in your room, I mean.
The last time we went to WDW (12/2003) my PA DD5 ate ice cream repeatedly from two different places in the MK, as recommended to me by Member Services. For the life of me, I can't remember both of their names, but one of them was the Aloha Isle which I think sells Dole Whips -- soft-serve vanilla ice cream with pineapple or orange mixed in. The other one is a stone's throw away in Adventureland, right at the exit of the Enchanted Tiki Room and sells soft-serve and frozen yogurt. From the carts I only allow her to eat Itzakadoozies which both WDW and Nestle vouched were peanut and nut-free.
I am definitely more cautious than most PA parents as my DD is category 6. However, I feel very comfortable with the ice cream from these two places.
