Peak season vs low season after New Years

Husband & I are planning a London/Paris trip over New Years this year. We can visit DLP on January 2, 3 or 4, but aren't quite sure which day is best. Peak season prices are in effect the 2 & 3, with low season (MINI) starting the 4th, however park hours are longer on the 2 & 3. How are crowds right after New Years? Ideally we would like to go on 2 January (Saturday), however if crowds will be prohibitive then we would rather go on another day. Last year we spent the week between Christmas & New Years at WDW and experienced those crowds - are DLP crowds similar? WDW I know - but I don't know the first thing about DLP!

I have been a few times at this time of year, the weekend was busy but the weekdays we so quite. It was like having the park to yourself some times. No qeues and all the rides were walk-ons. We rode POTC and IASM quite a few times by ourselves.

I would beg to differ on those dates. From the 6th it is usually very quiet but we went thinking it would be quiet from the 2nd - 6-jan 2014 and the park was rammed with queue times up to 2.5 hrs. Take a look at this vid I did at 10am of the fast pass queue by BTM..

It will be busy the 2nd and 3rd...we went Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th this year and the crowds only started to ease later on the Sunday. Think like this: French school holidays and weekends = longer hours but busy; French term time = shorter hours but quieter.

Monday 4th will be much better as I think they go back to school that day. Can you get there early to make the most of your day?

We plan on arriving early. When we visit WDW we are typically park open to close people.
