We are trying to decide whether to book RPH or PBH for our trip May 23-27.

For those of you who have stayed onsite, which would be the best resort for my family - DD 12 DS 8 and my hubby and me. I've been looking at the website for days and I can't decide, so I need your help!

Is the PBH worth the extra $$?

Which is closer ,as far as walking distance, to the parks?

DD likes the theme of RPH, but I don't think she has seen the pool with the slide at PBH. Convenience and relaxation is the key, so.....

Can you get the Stay 4 play free at the Entertainment Rate or is the ER for room only? I called and the ER's have not been released yet. If we book now and the ER's come out before our trip, will they still give us the ER rate and adjust our ressie?

We are booking this weekend, so any input will be appreciated.

Thanks everyone.

Well, lets see...RPR is closer and cheaper. The rooms at PBH are bigger. No ent. rates and people have been saying that they won't be released at all this year, but who knows for sure. I can only say that it is not looking good. And, as far as I know, the ent rate can't be combined with anything, ie. stay and play. As far as pools, you are allowed to pool hop at all of the hotels.

We are also looking into our first trip. You can POOL HOP? Wow :cheer2:  I'm in love already! So we can stay at the Royal and swim at Portofino? Gotta love that :cool1: How do you get from the Royal into the parks? I saw something about water launch or bus available... What does that mean? Is it like at Wilderness Lodge where you can take the boat to MK and the busses everywhere else?
Thanks.

No it's not like Wilderness Lodge. It's SO much easier!! You can WALK to the parks from the Royal Pacific. It took us about 8 minutes to walk to City Walk. Another three minutes from there to IOA and maybe five minutes from there to US. They do have water taxis and buses. The buses take the longest because they stop at all the hotels. Everything at Universal is so close that it's an easy walk.

I ended up booking PBH because RPH was not available for my dates, unless I add one more night.

Will we be disappointed in the location and size of PBH? It seems to be so much larger. I can book the xtra night at RPH and it will cost less than PBH.

I like the idea that you can walk to the parks and City Walk from RPH, but then again I saw PBH on the travel channel and it was beautiful.

I think too much...... right.

Why not book the extra night at RPR, this way you can experience both resorts. It's easy an easy walk from PRR to CityWalk, but I think taking the boat is nicer, it is very relaxing.

Just enjoy the PBH. It's a beautiful hotel and the pool looks fun (it was too cold to swim while we were there). We had a fabulous buffet meal in one of the restaurants there. Can't remember the name - if you walk from the boat launch straight back towards the middle of the U, it's on the left in the promenade.
