PBH last minute questions!!!

I cannot even believe we are going to Universal on Tuesday! We were supposed to be vacationing on Captiva Island at this time, but obviously we had to change plans! I was certainly not going to complain even if we had to cancel our vacation entirely.....that is a non-problem compared to what so many Floridians are facing today!

However, things have worked out great....Frontier (a great airline!) has allowed us to switch our tickets to Orlando at no extra cost and I have booked a deluxe PBH room for Aug 17-21 at APH rate of $202/night.

OK, now to my questions.....I've only been researching RPR, so I don't know much about PBH.

What would be a good deluxe room location to be convenient to the beach pool and the boats to the parks? I think the West wing from what I've read so far on the PBH thread, but not sure if a certain location within the west wing is better.

Where can I email the PBH with our requests? We won't be arriving until 10:20 pm, so I'd like to let them know our requests ahead of time!

Can someone explain what the patios are like? I'm not sure one would even be available, but I am curious. I probably would not want a balcony, since I'd be nervous my 4yo would try to climb over it. A patio sounds nice though. Is there enough room to sit outside? Is it surrounded by a fence?

If you have any other PBH related advice for a family of 5 (kids 11, 6, and 4), let me know....I'm still in complete shock that we're going on TUESDAY so I can't even think of all the questions I probably have! Thanks!

I would call the hotel directly and speak to someone about room locations. I saw many rooms that were bayview west or villa wing right along the boatdock area. They would know which wing for sure-I can't recall. There were also some VERY lovely patios in the villa wing overlooking a courtyard just before the villa pool. These were enclosed by bushes and a 4 yr old would have difficulty escaping.:p Unlike the ones by the boatdock where you could never take your eyes off him. They are not enclosed and close to the water. There si a shortcut with the courtyard rooms which brings you into the lobby and from there a staircase that leads down to the area by boatdock.

A balcony would'nt be a problem. They are concrete and very high. I have 4yo triplets and i had no concerns over that. Request a west wing room and call the hotel directly. They will be doing allocations two days before you arrive so don't delay call now. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the responses!

(Note to self: try not to get lost at PBH....then again, maybe not such a bad place to get lost!)

I definitely don't want a patio my kids can escape from. I guess if the balconies can hold 4-yo triplets (I cannot even BEGIN TO IMAGINE how busy you must be!) they can hold my munchkins too.

I will definitely call tomorrow. When I talked to reservations they said room assignments were done when you arrived, which is not good for us since we arrive MCO at 10:20 pm! I guess I will call the hotel directly and see what they can do. Anyway, I'm sure I will be happy with ANY deluxe PBH room, so not going to stress!

Thanks again!
