On our recent stay at the PBH, we were a little bit worried about the reservation because we booked through Orange Vacations. We got to the hotel and there was a long line of people checking in (right around 3pm). A very kind lady (her name was Dianne) ushered us to a seperate check in area. I told her my last name and she typed it in---my heart rate going up. Keep in mind I just booked a standard garden view room. Dianne confirmed the dates and asked if a suite was the room we had booked. I thought for a second and I was honest and said no we actually had a standard room. So she did some typing on the computer and she asked the lady next to her (maybe a manager of some sort since she was not wearing the PBH overcoat). She said we had been upgraded!!!! YES!!!!!! I was caught in amazment!!! We had rooms 3235 and 3237. To know we had a suite was a perk within its self, but then she told us is was in the West Wing (even better). Then she paused a moment and she said it was Bay View. When we finally got to our room the bellman said we actually had a Parlor Suite. Request this suite if you can!! There was NO WEAR in this Suite what so ever!!!! 1000000000000 X Better than the HRH. We had a 45 second walk to the ferry dock, which is a plus in the FL heat. FOTL was UNLIMITED all 4 days we were there. When we got ready to leave we called Star Service for a bellman to get our bags. Patrick was our bellman. He was the most kind and humorous gentlman I have ever met! Check-out was quick and easy and we were on our way to Daytona! During our stay, every single staff member was very kind and helpful and always had a smile. Kudos! Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando, A Loews Hotel :cool1: :cool1:

You now know the reason I can only stay at PBH when I'm traveling with my wife! :rotfl2:

I'm pretty jealous! Separate check-in area? Garden to a Bayview Parlor Suite? Are you Loew's Platinum? Congrats!

I totally agree. Just got back from 10 days there. Absolutely awesome.

Platinum upgrade - garden view (2 rooms) to West Wing Villa Suite. Unbelievable.

It had been awhile since we had stayed at PBH. Usually stay at RPR. But RPR said the only upgrade they could give us for our Platinum was a waterview room. Said the suites only held 3 people, so they couldn't fit our family of 5.

So, called over to the PBH - voila - immediate upgrade to the Villa. Now that is service. We won't stay anywhere else again! (However, did fall in love with the HRH pool.)

Glad you had a great time!! Their service is unbelievable!

Believe it or not, I am only a Loews First Blue Member!!
The way I understand it, Raymond James was having a company retreat or something and they had too many people show up at the RPR so the overflow got sent to the Portofino. I guess the company wanted all standard rooms so we got sent up ALL THE WAY TO A PARLOR SUITE!!!!!!!!!

Ah, you were there the same time we were, as we were there the same time as the Raymond James convention too. We actually almost got on the Raymond James bus to the RPH by accident instead of the parks bus.

The walk to the boat was phenominal! Just down the elevator and out the door and you were there. I loved being able to look out the deck and see when it was coming and then head out the door. We never missed a boat and never had to stand in the sun waiting for it. Definitely the wing to be in!!

We were right above you in 3531, 3533 and 3537 (3535 was the pantry door). It was definitely one of the best trips to Universal we have ever had!

Isn't Loews Great! I wish each city had a Loews. By the way, what was the Bay view you had. Was it the rooms just over the boat dock?
