I just got this email supposidly from paypal dated Dec 2010!!!!

there is no paypal logo and its addressed to paypal user

its about that members have to get verified (or reverilfied)

due to changes and if you dont get verified theyll cancel your account

anyone else get this?

I already deleted mine!!!

You should forward it to Paypal so their fraud department knows about it. Most sites have an address for that like fraud@ or spoof@. I would check the Paypal website and send it to them.

These are pretty common spoofed emails, but today I did get one from a foreign sounding name through the actual paypal mail system which is a new strategy. He was requesting 3,000 Euro for "services".

I used to get those a lot. I always just forwarded them to spoof@paypal.com or (the ebay ones) to spoof@ebay.com.

They confirm within hours that the emails are fraudulent.

NEVER EVER respond to those emails or click on any links or attachments. You know, even if I get a legit email from my credit card company, bank, etc, I don't click on the links. I just go directly to the site itself to see what's happening or what the notification was about.

Before you forward anything to "spoof@..." please turn on the "show full headers" in your email program which makes it much easier for them to locate the actual source of the message.

Good call! If you don't know how to do that (because I don't either) just click on "file" scroll down to "properties" and then click on "details". The full header content will be there. You can just copy and paste it into your reply. :)

Got one last week from pay pal and knew had to be a fraud. Get them also from credit card services as well as calls on a blocked line here telling me they can save me interest and I ask how and she said well I need your card number and I said well if your with MY card company YOU should have that and she hung up on me. SO any time they call now I ask them for My info and they just hang up on me.:rotfl2: The e-mails from people wanting you to cash a check or money order been out there for few years now. Big scam and they still get people to do it for them as I work in a Bank and we have people all the time losing money to them, would say maybe fifty a month will fall for this and has been advertised here a lot not to do this scam..:scared1: have seen some lose up to $10,000 on this one.:confused3

Yep. . .it's sad isn't it? There for awhile I kept getting post cards in the mail about my car warranty being expired and that I needed to buy more. Well when I went into the dealer for my oil change there was a big display about this scam and that the post cards weren't from them. . . just some company trying to sell you some additional (crappy) coverage that you didn't need.
