I have a Paypal account with some money in it. I was wondering if anyone who uses Paypal linked it to their bank account so they can transfer money from Paypal to their bank. For some reason this idea makes me nervous.

I thought I could link it to a credit card and transfer the money to the credit card, but just discovered I can't.

I've had it set up that way for years with no problems - linked to my checking account. I only keep what I need in checking so if something happens, I won't lose everything.

I've had it set up that way for years as well. I cash out for paypal gift cards through swagbucks then transfer into my bank account. I've never had a problem. My mother sells a lot on ebay and transfers thousands from paypal back to her bank account. She's been doing this for over 10 years without issue.

You can always have them send you a check for a fee (I think $5?) But I've had it set up with a checking account for years and I only use the account for PayPal purposes only so if it ever gets too big of a balance, I take out the cash at the bank and then deposit it into my other account for paying bills.

Years ago when I freelanced, I got paid by Paypal from one of my larger clients. We opened a separate bank account to transfer the Paypal funds into, just to make sure nothing happened. One time in all the years I've used it, did someone try to hack into my Paypal account. I caught it and reported it to Paypal before they were successful. I think you'll be fine.
