Hiya

I'm trying to send a payment to Rev Miller and he's given me two options as I'm from the UK..
1) International Money Order (with VISA sign)
2) Travellers Cheques.
Has anyone used Rev Miller and been able to pay an easier way ie credit card or bank transfer?

So far I've ordered a money order with my bank but it has come back without a VISA sign on so I'm now reverting to Travellers Cheques. The trouble is I don't know how to use them? I explained to the lady who I bought them off that I was sending them over to US and that they needed a VISA sign on them. She talked to me like I was an idiot and said I needed to be over there for the person to cash them. I feel like such an idiot  cause I've now bought travellers cheques that I probably can't use and definately don't know how to use... :lmao:
I've signed them when I bought them and I don't know what to do now..

Sorry to rant Can anyone help? :)

I thought you had to sign traveller cheques in-front of the person you get them from and them in-front of the parson you are giving them to. I haven't used them for ages so this may have changed. I would mail him and ask it might be that you just sign it and send it over.

We used him. We paid him 1/2 with an international money order and then 1/2 in cash. I really wish people would set up with paypal or something, it would make life so much easier!

The only traveler checks I have ever used are American Express. I would just fill out his name as the payee and sign the check in the two designated spots. The requirement to sign the check in front of the person is to prevent fraud at restaurants, stores or hotels. I don't think the minister is worried about fraud but may have problems with international money orders due to currency conversion rates. Hoped this helped.

Thanks I'll send him an email and just make sure he's happy about me signing in the two places.

Cheers ;)

Hi there! I paid him not long ago, and I know how confusing it is! Yes, you sign both places and send them over, or he can't cash them. Don't forget to write his name on the middle part to say that you are signing them over to him. :) Let me know if you need any more advice! :)

Hiya Raspberry Bubbles,

I'm stil having loads of trouble with sending a payment. I've got my travellers cheques signed twice and made payable to Rev Miller. When I emailed him he sent me a copy of how the travellers cheques should look and they had a big visa sign in the middle. The thing is I've just got the American Express ones and they don't have a visa sign on them at all. I've tried to find somewhere that does the cheques with the Visa sign on them and the post office and any of the travel agents I've been to don't sell travellers cheques with a visa sign on them. I don't want to email Rev Miller again as I've had so many problems with the payment so far but then again I don't want to send the travellers cheques I have to him incase they don't work. Then I can't use them again.... :confused3 Where did you get your travellers cheques from?

Sorry if I sound like I'm stressing..

Thanks

Hi again!

No problems at all - mine were American Express also. Just make sure you sign them twice and put his name on the payee part and that will be fine! The only ones that were available to me were the American Express ones and he accepted them over two months ago now :)

I know how awfully stressy it is - there is NOWHERE that tells you how to do this that I could find! :)

Hiya,

Thank you so much. Like you said it is really hard to find out things like this. Thank god for this forum otherwise I wouldn't have a clue. :grouphug:

Once again thank you, you've put my mind at rest and I can finally send the payment tomorrow... xx :thumbsup2

Not a problem at all - I'm glad I could help! I was so worried about sending my payment incorrectly - I'm sure he thought I was stalling for time, but I couldn't get help anywhere! :)
