I have never used Payless, but I just checked with them and they are running way cheaper than anyone for October. My dates are Oct. 10-19. The prices at Dollar are well over $300 for those 9 days and are around $140 (for a small economy car-that's all the two of us need) at Payless! That's cheap! What are your Payless experiences? I realize I will have to take a shuttle to pick up my vehicle but I don't mind for that price! Can you also cancel your reservation like with other companies? Any Payless information is appreciated! Thanks! :thumbsup2

quoted from mousesavers:
"The Orlando rental agencies that get the most complaints from MouseSavers.com readers are L&M and Payless. These are sometimes the least expensive agencies on first glance, but if you can find the right combination of codes, coupons and other discounts, I think you'll usually find you can go with a more dependable agency at a similar price. I've received many complaints about these agencies, including: car type reserved was not available at pick-up, aggressive selling of insurance, overcharging, poor car quality, etc."

we're going to need a rental for our 9/27-10/6 trip also, & have booked a standard (monte carlo) with national ~ 9 days, P/U & D/O at the dolphin, using code 8572967 and entertainment book 2 class upgrade coupon. total (inc taxes/fees) is $172.
it's a little high for us, especially as we only need a compact (and are only paying $79 total for a compact, 7 days in may:thumbsup2 ).
try the code above, but also remember: historically, rates go down (dramatically!) as the dates get closer.
hth,

The ironic thing is that L&M was the only car rental company that I could find at the Orlando airport that was a member of the Better Business Bureau.

Have you tried Thrifty? They have some good rates for November when I am going.

There are some really good prices using some codes for National ending in 57 and 67 but there is some uncertainty as to whether these codes are for use by the general public. If you do use one of these codes, I would have a backup reservation.

I have used Payless quite a lot for Disney trips and have had no problems.

Their shuttle actually takes you along one route to Disney, out the airport north entrance and left at the first light and their office is a little ways down that road (Frontage going west). (From Thrifty it's a right at the last light on the main drag 436 Semoran)

When driving out of Payless with the car go right instead of their suggest left. Little over a half mile to next light (Conway), take two quick lefts here to get on Toll 528 (Beach Line) west. One 75 cent toll and you get tto I-4 west to Disney.

Coming back via I-4 east (northeast) to 528 East get off 528 at its exit 9 Tradeport, left (north) and cross under, *, get into middle lane, required right onto McCoy (becomes Frontage), Payless is about a half mile down (east), left of the toll booth you are skipping.

For those with other rental cars and eavesdropping, continue past Payless about a half mile to 436 (Semoran), then right for airport, left for Hertz and Thrifty.

* Nice cheap gas station right there to top off at.
