can you pay for drinks and other small items with cash on board or do you have to use your kttw? trying to decide how much cash to bring with us.....

From what I understand the only cash used onboard is for room service tipping and small change for the laundry. Everything else is charged to your room card although you can pay that off with cash/travellers checks etc at the end of your cruise. You will also need cash for the post office at Castaway Cay and cash/ credit card/Travellers checks for any other ports of call.
Hope thats right and hope that helps

You have to use your KTTW card to purchase ANYTHING On board the ship BUT you can always go to Guest services each night and pay off the balance instead of going home with a credit card bill. We have in the past, taken each day's "receipts" back to the room at night, totalled them up and then taken cash downstairs to pay off the balance. At the end of the trip it was SO nice to come home without a credit card bill. We budgeted X amount of $$$ for each day and at the end if we went over we'd deduct from the next day and if we didn't spend as much we'd add it to the next day.

We, too, paid daily for our purchases at G. Services. Much better to do that, just in case of discrepancies - which do occur sometimes. Somehow the bills didnt seem quite so bad by paying daily! Nat:Pinkbounc

If you do the cash nighlty, do you still need to leave a credit card? I was planning on bringing Travelers Checks an leaving them with Guest Services instead of a credit card? How do you fill out that form in your Docs then??

Good question, I was wondering the same thing... I hate credit cards and try to avoid bringing them anywhere!!! I can get out of control:teeth:

Anybody....Anybody....Bueller...Bueller???:teeth:

my sister's best friend's cousin (that one's for you denise5374) had a question:
when we check in, can we put some cash on our KTTW, then use it as a debit card until we use up the money? we won't put on more than we think we'd use (as we know we won't get that money back).

Amazing how cash is practically worthless onboard except for tipping. Cash or credit cards are necessary when you visit the islands except for Castaway Cay (Gee, there is a surprise). :)

I am almost positive that you can go to Guest Services on Deck 3 and give them cash in advance so that the KTTW acts more like a debit card.

Have fun,

Jeff

Hi

I know on CCL that you can give them a deposit instead of a credit card and as you get close to spending all of your deposit they will let you know so you can add more money....I'm sure that Disney will have the same program..A lot of people don't have Credit cards...Enjoy your cruise:boat:

on this past cruise, july 10th, i went to guest services on the first day and put down most of our spending money reserved for the ship and we just worked off of that. also when your on a cash basis you have a $250 limit before you pay up, however if you go over this limit before you put some more cash down your card will be suspended till you show up at guest services to pay some dollars on account.
