Paying off the balance through TA..

3 quick questions please:

1. Once the balance is paid in full, does the package with all the confirmations/luggage tags/etc. come from the travel agent (AAA) or WDW?

2. How soon after we're all paid in full does it actually come? For example, if we pay it off in October -- does WDW/TA still wait until 45 days out to send us the package? (We're not going until February so would I not get it until January 2013?)

3. Can I call WDW to confirm they received final payment and we're all set for arrival?

Disney sends the package to your TA, your TA sends it to you. So you should expect to get it a little later than if it was coming direct (which is about 30 days out).

As for checking on your reservation by calling yourself, I don't believe you will be able to do that until very close to your trip (a few days) if at all. It is owned by the TA until only a few days before your arrival when it is turned over to the resort. Your TA should be able to provide you with a copy of your statement showing you don't owe anything more.

This is why I will never use a TA. They own the reservation until you check in. You cannot look it up online. You cannot call Disney to make a request about your room. Your only resource is your travel agent.

The TA will get your package about 30 days out then will send it to you. It isn't that we own you reservation, but we do handle everything. Any decent TA will be available via phone or email to assist you with your reservation,
