My husband had a great idea that I think you might all like. :thumbsup2

For the past few years, ever since Disney started the fastpass system, when we are ready to leave the park for that day, we get fastpasses for one of the hard to get onto attractions.

As we are exiting, we give the fastpasses away to a family on thier way into the park at that time.

It is fun to share the magic :wizard: of Disney by giving these tickets away to someone for them to enjoy. The reactions we have experienced are wonderfully rewarding.

In MK we like to get Peter Pan's Flight ( :confused3 always a long line) and give them to a family with young children.

At Disney MGM Studios, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror are our choices.

Epcot attractions we have done are Test Track and Soarin' .

In DAK we usually get Kilimanjaro Safari but I imagine Everest would be even better.

:wizard: So... My challange to you all is to begin "Paying it Forward.. with Fastpass" yourselves. ::yes:: I am sure you all will find it as rewarding as we do.

Good for you! Im going soon and I will try to do that! In fact, a family did tat for me once and my teens got to ride space mountain one last time before we left! :thumbsup2

I benefited from something similar. I was coming into MK, and getting a park map. Left on top of some of the maps were some unused Fast Passes to Buzz Lightyear. I looked around but one was near, so it was obvious they were left there on purpose to help other people. Probably the original owners of the Fastpasses already left the park. So I snatched up a couple, and got on Buzz almost immediately. Very nice of those people! :)

We did this last week. We had picked up FP for Soarin and decided not to go again. We asked a couple passing by if they would like them and the husband practicaly bolted to the other side of Epcot to get on the ride, even though they still had an hour before expiring. It was too much fun. I think next time we go I would like to do it at least once a day!!

:rotfl2:

I did this the last time we were there. We had fast passes to Peter Pan, Space and Splash, and decided to go back to the room. Can you believe I had to ask 3 different sets of couples until I found a mother/daughter who were just coming in and took them?

:rotfl2:

just my luck! oh well, those two were soooooooooo happy! :)

We did this in Epcot for TT. I was surprised what a hard time we had spreading the magic. Alot of people wouldn't respond & just walk by. We finally found a friendly & grateful family to give them to.

That is a great idea, MickeyBabe! It's so nice to hear people do such nice things for others! I think it's the reason these boards are so special - people like you! I will definitely do that when we go down in March! :thumbsup2

I've done this before but it's not always easy to find people who will take them! The best bet is to grab someone who's walking into the standby line for the attractiton and give them the Fastpass...not too many have refused there...

I also had a very nice guy give my friend and I fastpasses for a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Play It (back when they had the machines still there, of course). This was great because the two of us were just about to get into the standby line and we didn't think we'd be able to get into the next show. Well I ended up making it into the Hot Seat that show...and as I got up in points (around 64,000) I started wondering...if I won the cruise, would I have to take that guy with me? After all, I wouldn't have been there if it weren't for him! :scared: (I ended up getting a question wrong and going back to 32 lol).

I love doing this. We had a party of eight and not all were planning to ride all the rides. I got 8 FPs for SM and 4 people went. We thought that maybe someone would want to go twice. As it turned out no one did and we were heading back to room mid-afternoon. The regular line now was 100 yards out from the entrance and I saw a a mom & dad with 2 small kids. I asked if this was the first ride for the young boy and the mom replied yes. I said, "Here you go. Walk right on." The smiles on those faces were the highlight of the day!

We did it for SM at DL the other day for a young couple that was talking about a 30 min.wait just to get wet.So I pulled out my PILE ( waits not that long iam but I still FP everything I could)of FP and said here you go now you don't have to wait to get wet.
He said Thanks a lot as she jumped up and down.I don't think he was in the getting wet mood and I left him without a out.I also told them not to pay attention to the time only the entry time matters.

Awesome idea! I have never thought of doing this; we've done similar things at other amusement parks we've been to where we bought too many tickets and gave the rest away (last time we gave tickets to a little boy, around 3, with a mohawk. Cutest child! He was so happy, he looked at his mom and exclaimed, "We can go on more rides!") We will definitely be using your idea on our next trip! :teeth:

This is something we've done as well, though not always intentionally. Plans change and sometimes we find ourselves holding Fast Passes. In those cases, we do as you've suggested and look for a family (especially with young ones if the attraction is appropriate) and almost always find a very gratifying response.

Nice idea! :)

we've attempted to do this before and no one would take them, maybe I have a sneaky looking face or something. People kept looking at me like I had gone crazy lol Oh well, I tried to spread the joy!

I have never thought about that. That sounds like a wonderful idea. I can just imagine the smiles on the people's faces.

We had FPs that we gave out a couple months ago, but if you think trying to give away 2 of them is hard, try 6! :rotfl: I ended up having DH seek out a couple families of 3, but it still took some time before anyone would take them--I want to say it was for Pooh, so it's not like it was a ride no one wanted to go on. I think they might have though we were weird or something. :rotfl2:

It did come around though---DH & I were alone at MK a couple weeks ago & a couple gave us their Space Mountain FPs that were good right at that moment.

We've been on both the giving and the receiving end of this. I can tell you I pretty much won't turn you down if you offer them to me (but then I again, I rarely turn down anything free). We haven't had a problem giving them away either. As someone said, the smiles make it worth it. Whenever we've had extra FP's to give away, it was because our plans changed. I'll have to remember to pick up extra ones anyway if we're park hopping, heading to the pool, going to a resort for dinner, etc.

Great idea!

Mike

We do this as well...we get fastpasses and then decide we want to head to another park or go back.

I do have to agree, sometimes trying to find someone to take them is difficult!! But when you do, they are usually extremely greatful.

We just got back from a long weekend at WDW, watching DD march down Main Street USA with her band. :teeth:

We were in the parks late every night (leaving after all FP machines were out of tickets) but, the day we were leaving we passed on a pair of Space Mountian FPs to a couple on thier way into the park. They smiled, thanked us bunches and we were on our way.

Again, sharing the magic is always nice. pixiedust:

My Dh and I have also passed along the magic pastpass style.

Something else we have done a couple of times:
We live in Orlando and we have to take the toll roads past the airport to get to WDW. Sometimes if we notice a van of kiddies behind us who could possibly be going to WDW (or just really anyone for that matter) we tell the attendant we would like to pay the toll for the people behind us as well. I hope it's a nice way to start off a WDW vacation! :teeth:
