Paying it forward...how would you??

The pet food is a very good IDEA!! In slow economic times it can be the pets that suffer. My Dd was just talking to her cat about that last night. The cat gets soft food at 7pm every night. And that cat knows exactly when it is time to eat!! If Dd is slow about getting the cat fed, kitty starts to annoy Dd or Dh till she is fed!!

Standing in line at our local pharmacy I heard "Bob" explaining to an elderly lady that she HAD to buy take her blood pressure medicine even though it was quite expensive. She counted out cash, including change, and he counted out enough pills to get her through the next four days, rather than the full 30 day supply.

I caught his eye, waving my stashed $20. He got a big smile on his face and said "I think there might be a special sale on that right now, let me check."

She got her meds. The relief and joy on her face was priceless.

After she left the area, I gave him some additional cash and we agreed that her meds would still be on special sale when she came for her next refill.

Money is tight at our house, but I LOVE keeping a few extra bucks on hand so that when that unique opportunity crosses my path, I have the ability to respond.

Thank you for this thread. We are beginning Financial Peace University tomorrow. We are not in dire circumstances but want to be debt free. Thanks to everyone here for some good ideas on how to help others.
