I am on the DDP in September, but using 2TS credits at California Grill. Which place does it make the most sense to pay OOP:
Spoodles
Coral Reef
or
Rose and Crown?

The easiest way for you to figure that out is to add up what you might order at each (using the menus at allears.net) and figuring out which one cost the least! :)

On the other hand, it sometimes pays to pay OOP for the 2TS meal and then you still have two 1TS meals left. If you add up two of your 1TS meals, it probably will be lots more than your one meal at the 2TS restaurant.

HTH!

I am having similar thoughts. We have 5TS and will use 2 at Narcoossee's. Our other 3 turn out to be buffets. I may pay for a buffet or just go OOP for the other TS.

On your list R&C has the least expensive entrees.

I agree with the other poster. It sometimes pays to pay OOP for 2 TS meals. Yes they might be a little more expensive, but I don't think it is really worth wasting 2 TS credit. Probably you wouldn't order as much food as paying out OOP anyway. Take a look at the menu (allears.net) to see what you might order figure out est. cost.

Another option is just to eat a counter service the next day to make up for the 2TS's u used the day before!

We will be going to the Luau which is 2TS and are a party of 2. We plan to pay for 1 of our Luau dinners and use 2TS credits for the other rather than 4TS total. That allows us to go to a 1TS another night.

So we pay $55 for the Luau and added the Concourse Steakhouse for another night. Our dinner there should total close to $100 so we come out ahead by $45.

Can you do that? They wouldn't allow us to split our payment that way when we did HDDR two years ago on the DDP. They said we had to either pay for both OOP or both with DDP credits, but we couldn't split it. Maybe they changed it? Or maybe I got bad info to begin with? Splitting OOP and DDP wasn't a problem anywhere else, just there.

We are staying 8 nights and booked 10 TS. Two of which are 2TS credits. We decided to pay out of pocket for three meals. And we decided by looking at the menus, seeing what we would order, and choose what would be the cheapest meal.

We booked all lunches for those TS too. Lunch usually serves the same food just for a lesser price.

your server should be able to split the check, tell them at the beginning of the meal how you want to handle it. Some servers have mentioned that the way the system is setup, it is very difficult to change how the bill is once it is put through.

According to Disney, you can use credits or split how you use them at every meal.

We did this at AP. Too many rich meals, I only had the yummy soup and mooched some buffalo from hubby. This was fine and saved us 2 credits for pucks :goodvibes

we too are having dinner at narcoossee's and my dd (14)and I are very light eaters i personally think it would be a waste of 2 ts however, my dh and ds (15)are on the bigger eaters so maybe what i will do is tell our server to give us a seperate check and then they will be on the dining plan??? there would be another meal for us right there.
