Just booked our first Disney cruise :Pinkbounc & was wondering if I could send extra money to have on account when we board? I'm thinking I want to send enough to at least pay for the excursions we plan on taking. We always send extra to WDW so we're not hit with such a big bill when we check out! Has anyone done this on the cruise? I'm taking my DD for her 6th birthday & I know she's going to con me out of a lot!! Thanks!

while I'm not sure if you can place $ "on account", I do know that purchases onboard through the KTTW card are linked to a credit card...

Why not consider putting extra $ in your checking or savings account, and if you don't have one already, link it to a debit card (Visa Check card)....Then, you can use that card to settle your KTTW purchases at the end of the cruise...also, you should know that during the cruise, at any time you can get a printout of your purchases to date...

you can purchase stateroom credits directly from Disney or you can just buy disney dollars and have them applied to your account upon boarding.

When I asked to apply money to my account ahead of time after I made the final payment, they told me I couldn't.

Personally, I put down my debit card and have the money in the account. They say they charge it everytime it reaches $200-250.
They charged mine when the room total was almost $300. It realy didn't matter to me though.

Yeap!!! You sure can pay ahead on your shipboard credits.
Just give Magical Treasures a call 1-800-601 8455. You'll need your stateroom number, maybe reservations number and last name and of course a credit card.
Happy Sailing!

P.S. when you check in at the terminal they will ask for a credit card to start your onboard account but don't worry nothing will be added to your card. If you do have a balanced owed you can pay it off in cash before leaving the ship or it will automatically go on your credit card. If you don't spend all that you have pre-paid it will be credited back to your credit card.

Thanks everyone!!

I will definitely be getting some credits! I have no problem with the credit cards, I just really like to get ahead on my vacations. This way I can start planning the next one as soon as I get home!!

On-board credits make great gifts too!

We booked our July 19 Western cruise last June. For Christmas last year, our neighbors, who say that we are "the hardest people in the world to buy for", gave us ship-board credit as our Christmas gift. I said that it was one of the best presents that I had ever gotten.
;)

So thoughful!! And then, for Mother's Day my husband and girls gave me even more on-board credit for "my Spa treatments"! This is a great idea for gift giving!!

I agree!!! In fact, if anybody would like to contribute to our on-board account, just let me know and I'll be more than happy to give you the room number, name, etc. :p

We did it through Magical Treasures for our last cruise and are doing it again for October. It was great not to have that big bill at the end of the cruise!
