Paying Dues with a Gift Card

Correct. It will be ending at 1:00am EST. My wife just got her last two and I am “eligible” to get my last two at around 11:45pm tonight. Looks like I will be a little sleepy tomorrow morning.

My GC in limbo just went through

My 2nd business order got when placed under 24 hours. When placed after 24 hours, it fulfills. So it only an extra card beyond a personal account. But the personal account right now is restricted as I hit 10, and the business account is fulfilling, so I'll take it.

I've placed 6 orders over the past 4 days. The first 4 orders all processed quickly, but the 5th order was in limbo for about 16 hours. Still waiting for the 6th and final order to process.

Purchased another with my new business account and it went through. Tried a 2nd, and it was cancelled. Waiting until my 24h period for the 2 personal accounts to see if i can get 2 more. I only have $118 left in dues for the year.

I was able to buy 1 more with my personal account. 2nd one gets the This item has a quantity limit that you reached with previous orders. when trying to check out. Not sure if that's because the 2nd order from yesterday was in limbo until today, or if it's because this account has purchased 10 GCs.

My wife's account gets auto cancelled, most likely because I was able to hit the 10 total limit sooner with hers because I had no issues ordering 2 per day with it.

I just have $68.80 left due for the year. I just missed the mark by one. It's been a fun ride! Lets keep an eye out for the next BB $50 for $45 sale!

There’s always tickets and dining too! Incredipass for a family of 4 will keep me hunting for a long time.

Recruiting the whole gang we were able to get 24 so far. Waiting on 3 in limbo on my business account that has been locked out since Thursday. Going to try one last one on my son’s account before the deal ends. Still barely paid through June. Need a deal with $450 for $500. This $50 at a time is a pain!

***EDIT: Finished at 27. We are paid til July on all memberships. Thanks to the whole community on this! Looking forward to the next deal!***

I ordered my first two for this discount at 9:48 and 9:55 Pacific time last night. I hope it doesn’t expire at midnight eastern. It looks like maybe Central time based on the count down - which would be 10p Pacific. It will be cutting it super close for me to get another two cards.
I wish I had seen this earlier in the week!

I was able to get 2 just before the deal ended! I tried at 9:47 and wasn’t able to, but I got one through at 9:49 and the other at 9:58.

The emails with the gift cards have come through. I ended up with $200 worth but paid $180. I wish I had been ordering them all week, but at least I saved what I did.

I'm trying to reflect on the last week of Best Buy gift card deals. On the 27 cards we were able to save $135 + any cash-back rewards. On the surface that seems like a fair bit of money but when you think about it, the usual Target 5% deal would have saved $67.50 anyway. If you think about it this way, all I really saved was less than $68 and I am really asking if it was worth it.

For those who have been at this game longer than me, are these opportunities frequent so I can leisurely go about saving next time?
Alternatively, how often do we see deals for larger size gift cards?

Not sure, I'm new to this too. Last time, someone posted about it around christmas time and I was able to score a bunch. Then I just casually looked at the best buy site and noticed it was on sale again when I posted it here a week ago.

I agree. It is a lot of time and attention to save (in my case) $40. The Target option is easier because you can buy $500 gift cards and buy multiples at one time. But I think I saved $160 on my $3000 dues. It's not nothing but its a lot of work.

It did take some work, and I thought about the Target card...but, then I lose the 2% on my regular credit card. It still is a net of 3% but in this case, I got the 10% off and my 2% and while this isn't going to be all the time, it was at least good. I ended up with 11 cards total!

Sigh. They auto cancelled. On the plus side we were able to get $500 on the Best buy deal over the last 4 days. The rest of our maintenance fees ($2500) will be on the target credit card.

5% is better than nothing, while 10% is better than 5%. Can't wait to collect more gift cards!!!

The majority of the time and attention was us trying to figure it out. Admittedly, I got caught up in trying to figure out how to get more rather than just grabbing them this time around. We're normally opportunistic about it and not really trying to figure out thee system.

If you think about this way - now that we know 2x day - 10 max limit. Instead of trying repeatedly, you log on once place two orders and call it a day - it really doesn't take much time.

Even if it gets canceled as long as you're on the lookout for them when they occur it's pretty easy to get enough to cover all dues, tickets, and dining.

The next piece is also just how much you need. $1000 dues to save $100 or $50 extra? Not that great. If you have $3,500 in dues, $2,000 in tickets, $2,000 in dining it changes the value a bit more.

There are deals that come up through the year. I usually take advantage of those and then make up the difference, if any, with my Target card 5%.

I agree. I got only one BB gift card which had my dues paid through March and part of April. Hoping to get other opportunities before April comes due. If not I do not have FOMO about this one.
