Paying Dues Monthly

I just called Member Accounting...they can't do this over the phone. They need to mail the form out and I must send back with voided check. Anyway to get this form online?

You may be able to do this through your online banking link - I use Wachovia and they do have an option for you - they will send the direct deposit information to DVC for you.
I don't know if your bank would have it or not, but I have used the Wachovia service and it saves me mailing a voided check to them, etc. Much less aggravation on my end, that's for sure.
Good luck!:goodvibes

I called MS back and got a totally different response...they said I could fill out info on a sheet of paper (contract #'s, daytime phone, debit request date) and photocopy a check, write void on the copy, and fax all back over to Member Accounting. Wish the firs MS person would have told me that! thanks goes out to a poster here who said she did this very same thing. So no need to wait.....call Member Accting and they will give you the info and fax number.

I am in the process of closing and I do not owe 2008 dues at closing. They already have my documents and check. When is the last day that I can choose to pay my annual dues monthly instead of a lump sum. Also, I assume that I can't ask for the form until they have me in the system which could take a couple of weeks. Does anyone know if this is correct?

I also found out, that I can make extra dues payments on the DVC parasite, I mean website,:goodvibes whenever I want.
I used a Visa giftcard I got off coke rewards and applied it to my dues online
just last month, so at least that feature works.

We got a $200 referral award and were given the option of using it to pay toward our annual dues, so we did for one contract.

And then I also did the (almost) same thing with Visa Giftcard from CokeRewards... used it to pay on our loan principle online. Any time we get extra $$, we put it right toward DVC so we can be done soon.

But back to the topic, we weren't given the option of paying dues annually when we joined - or if we were, I don't remember, but since we were financing anyway, I guess they just assumed we would want to do monthly. We have it set where dues come out on the 1st and loan comes out on the 15th... but hopefully for not much longer :)

Do you have to send in a check if you already have one with them for direct debit for your monthly payment finance?

I think I would just to make sure everything is in one place ready to go. That is what I liked about faxing it - all the information was on one page.

Hi, I'm a DVC member from the UK and I must say that I envy you guys the choice of paying in one lump sum or monthly. We DVCers in the UK are not given the choice - we have to pay in a lump sum in January, just after Christmas I wish DVC would help by setting up a method that would help us to pay monthly

tinkerbell 766 I spoke to member accounting today about this and was told that it is possible to spread the dues payment over the year regardless of the fact that I live in the uk.

Apparently as long as you pay the lump sum dues payment for january 2008, you can ring member services every month after that and pay money towards your next yearly dues using a credit card, so when the bill comes for payment in January 2009 you have the total minus any dues you have already paid.
It does seem to mean that you pay twice during 2008, at the beginning and then monthly, but it means you have no nasty bill just after christmas next year and subsequently.

Hope this helps, it is definately what we will be doing.

I hope your contract closes. I have read several posts from people who are closing now who owe all of 2008. Lemme know if you did anything different like call MS accounting or something so that you would not have to pay the lump sum...good luck :goodvibes

Rather than paying your 2009 dues many months in advance, why not put that money into an interest bearing account? Then the dues money plus a little interest will be there when you need it to pay the bill in Jan 2009. I guess I don't see the logic in handing over the money to Disney before it's due.

The only real advantage to paying in a lump sum is the ability to use a credit card and earn "reward points". Of course, this assumes you can pay the credit card off when it is due and thus not pay interest on an unpaid balance.

Being a somewhat paranoid person, I also prefer not to give anyone else access to my checking account unless it is absolutely necessary (or they bribe me with a significant discount). :)

Ding ding ding, took the words right out of my mouth. That is exactly what we do and why!
Especially the paranoid part!:thumbsup2

The only people that have access to our checking account is our ISP, a local company that we have used for 11 years.

I just was informed that we closed this week.:cool1:

I did not do anything special with closing related to fees. I was going to try to call MS to request the form but I hear they are closed.
