Paying Cash for extra night?

A question... If I book my Sun - Thurs in a 2 BDR using my points, but want to add the Sat to the ressie by paying cash, can I be sure that I won't have to switch rooms? Also, how do I find out the cost of a 2 BDR BCV in Jan for a Sat. night?

If you book the cash night through MS, you will not have to move. If available, there is a 25% discount (off rack rates) for members who book for cash through MS. Discounted cash nights are not always available and sometimes cash nights at rack are not available either. No way to know until you call MS.

If you book through CRO/WDWTC, you may have to move. The resorts try to avoid this for you, but cannot guarantee it. At a minimum you will have to check out and back in again between the CRO booked stay and the MS booked stay.

Some types of rooms are not available for cash. For example, my understanding is that the Boardwalk view rooms at the BWV and the dedicated 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom at the BCV cannot be booked for cash - either via MS or via CRO/WDWTC.

I want to add from my one and only experience with a cash night that when I went down to check out/in from cash to points they said " let me see if you'll be able to stay in the same room " I didn't even know I might have to move, although I didn't move.

Anytime I have done a cash night through member services (3 times I think), I did not have to check-in again. I was given keys & parking pass for the entire combined stay. Housekeeping was based on the entire stay. If I did Friday & Saturday member cash and then Sunday to Thursday points, trash & towel was Monday. My keys had Friday to Friday dates.

The one time I did an AP rate through CRO, it was Friday night after a Sunday to Thursday points stay. I did have to check-in again (but kept the same room). Friday night was considered a non-member night, I had to pay 75 cents for calls. But I did get full housekeeping that day.

There are a couple exceptions. From what I understand, they do not book BWV boardwalk view or 2 queen 2 bedrooms at BCV for member cash.

If you booked through MS & had the ressies linked you should not have had to check-out & back in again.

If you booked through CRO then you would have to.

We combine cash & points on every stay (3x per year) & this is how it has always worked for us.

I had booked both ressies through MS and had them linked. This was my first trip to BWV on points so a month before going called MS to check on ressie and make sure both were linked and was told they were. We were told at check in we had to check out / in next morning. I went down in am and asked if we really needed to check in / out and was told yes , lets see if you can stay in the same room.

I just checked my room keys and they were coded with the entire week and not just the point dates. This was 8-26 to 9-1 payed cash with dvc discount for Saturday night and points Sun- Friday.


I hope next time I don't have to check in/out , I like to sleep late
