Is there a good reference point for past attendance? I'm helping to plan a trip for several families and trying to decide if the Saturday after Thanksgiving through the following Saturday or Dec 1 through 7. Where can I try and researxh when the "less crowded" time will be? I guess I'm really trying to figure out if those couple of days after Thanksgiving will be ok with the crowds.

TIA!

this is a link to a page that has the attendence broken down weekly.

You can also check TouringPlans.com which is the website for the Unofficial Guide - you need to subscribe (or buy the book) to see the crowd calendar for a year ahead - but I think it is more than worth it.

After Thanksgiving till Christmas is an incredibly busy time. I went back in 05 and it was packed. Although it could have changed, general trends suggest it's going to be busy

I was just there Dec 11-17 and it was anything but crowded. We went that week because historically, from the Monday after Thanksgiving till about the 17th of Dec is one of the slowest times of the year and has all the Christmas stuff going on. From a few days before Christmas till the Sunday after New Years is the busiest time of the year, but the time when most schools is in session is very laid back.

I can tell u its not the slowest time of the year we have gone 6 time in the last 7 years in early Dec back in the early 2000's it was very slow but since about 05 its gotten alot busier...we went in 09 the week before thansgiving week and it was empty...when Soarin is never over 5 mins and TSM never over 20....its empty...we walked from TT to Imagination about noon and we passed a CM sweeping and that was the only person we passed...we ate at LeChef's in France about 1:30 and maybe 10 tables in use...the whole week was great and the Christmas party was empty as well on a Sunday night

I went that same year, same time and we found it to be really wonderful, not at all packed. We walked on most rides. Longest ride wait was 20 minutes. Maybe.

Used TP Best Parks and Crowd Calendar. Had empty buses and empty boats. Crowded in parks with EMH, but that's about it.

Hi,
The Christmas Parade is taped around that first weekend in Dec and depending on who may be making an appearance, it could somewhat affect the crowds. In 2008 we were there for the weekend and we found that it definitely affected the crowds in MK. It wasn't as busy as Easter maybe, but it was definitely more crowded in MK on the days of taping. We did not try to be part of the parade taping but we did see a few of the performers taping their spots. We just chose to go to DHS on parade day. I am sure it was insane with the Jonas Bros there. There were helicopters flying in and out all day. That we could see from the bus stop at Studios. It is so cool to be there for the Christmas Holidays. Have fun !!:santa:

Thanks so much for the responses! We were there last year around my bday (Dec 13) and it wasn't really too bad. I was just nervous about being there right after Thanksgiving.
