Hi all again,

Can anyone tell me the low-down on the passport situation. Do you have to have 6mths left to run on your passport from the date of your arrival in the USA or Departure from the USA.

Virgin state that you have to have the 6 months from your departure date yet the passports agents (within a travel agency) say it is from leaving the USA.

We are in a blind panic now with only 15 days to go - it may be a trip to Peterborough is looming.

Help please - out of my mind with worry!

Kind regards,

I don`t know, however I renewed DD passport a few weeks ago and we used the Post Office check and send service, she got her new passport in 7 days.
Good luck.

Julie.

I have recently booked next year's holiday by phone from Virgin Holidays. At the bottom of the invoice letter it states:-

BRITISH PASSPORT HOLDERS ARE NOW ONLY PERMITTED TO ENTER THE USA WITH A MACHINE READABLE PASSPORT VALID FOR 90 DAYS......

No mention of 6 months. Have you checked directly with Virgin?

Libby

Hi and thanks for your replies,

Virgin say it is OK travel and that they would be liable to provide the flight home if there was a problem being admitted to the country at Immigration.

It is just with everything you read, about how tight the Americans are on security and with all the conflicting advice we have been given so far (from people who should know) it makes you worry.

Hopefully, as Virgin would be carrying the cost, their advice is correct and the trip to Peterborough can be cancelled.

Thanks again.
