Hiya

Well after messing around checking out everybody elses things whos going with me in september I have just checked my own passport and guess what it will have run out by then lol

So heres th question, will I have to get a visa ifi renew my passport now? I mean I will send the app in before the end of the week.

Also how much are they these days lol, I havnt had to get one since I was 14

If you didn't need a visa before then you won't need one if you renew now :)

£51 link

we just got ours renewed. We did the check and send thing at the post office which cost around £8,passport cost something like £45 (i know i'm being vague!).
With the check and send our passports were back in exactly 2 weeks, much quicker than i remember.

UK passports issued in the UK currently comply with the US Immigration regulations. So no need to get a Visa if you are able to comply with the Visa free travel scheme ie Visa Waiver.

Claire ;)

well thats done

I went to the post office, got my pics done, took my old passport with me, filled the form in while I was there, got it checked and sent. All done!! lol

Total cost £58

So at least I know my passport isin date from now on, as I got to greece in three months as well, and my driving lisence is in good condition.

I had to send for Chris a new dvla as I have lost his (oops) but at least he will get a photocard with this one.

My sister in laws had to send for my brother a new passport and a new dvla today, as his passport has expired and his dvla is in 100 pieces because jordan decided she wasnt keen on it and shredded it,

expensive week so far

LOL

I've got to renew my driving license - not because it's expiring, but because it's not been unfolded in over 7 years, so the edges of the folds are split into pieces (back before the days of photo licenses), and it's got to be sent off to have some old points removed anyhow - they expired 3 years ago, never got around to removing them...

If you are renewing an adult passport you can apply online, they then send you the form all filled in and you just have to sign it and send it off with your pics. Pics only need to be coutersigned if you have changed significantly. In addition you can apply upto 9 months in advance of expiry, they will credit you with the extra months on your passport.

Just done mine and posted it on Monday.

For my last two trips to the US, my paper licence was more sellotape than paper. It really doesn't matter as long as it is still reasonably legible

I would have to disagree, the last time my brother went his was stuck together and they told him it was illegal, and that he would have to have a new one to drive their again, which is why h has sent for a new one this time
