PassPorter Guide - Worth It???

Is it worth it even if you've been to Disney multiple times and know it inside and out?

Yes! We have been to WDW many times but I still plan everything out and the passporter gives me a place to organize everything. All my trip information is in one place and it makes it so much easier. I can write notes in it so I don't forget things I'd like to do. Also it is kind of like a journal. I still look through my last one. We like the yellow pages where you have different questions about your day. What you did, the weather, did you try something new, etc. It was fun to end the day with our family by looking back on the day and filling out the book. I look forward to doing it again in May.

I just bought this book for our upcoming trip and have to tell you I'm THRILLED with it so far. My youngest is afraid of heights...and the dark, and bugs, etc. (you get the idea) and the ride descriptions in the book have been very helpful in planning our days. I used it when calling to make our ADR too. I would definitely recommend it.

as a 'peer reviewer' of the 2K8 edition, i highly recommend it.

although i would have anyway. for my money, the maps are worth it alone.

i think if you download the free preview pages, it even includes one of the maps.

I didn't know that, so I had to pull out my 2008 version, which I carry almost everywhere and there you are.

I really like the Passporter book. I'm noramlly one to say pass on guidebooks, in terms of NEEDING one. I got lots of info from the Sepcial Needs edition. Practical stufff, like how long it takes go get from WL to MK via bus. How much walking you'll do in a day, etc. If you have anyone in your family with food allergies, mobility issues, fear of confined spaces, a desire to go jogging in the morning, dietary concerns, little kids or babies, or anything along those lines (It REALLY covers MANY different topics!) then this is a great book.


If, on the other hand, you are looking for a giude book less for details and more for glossy pics to drool over and rife descriptions that will make you wish you were there...then maybe the Unoffical Guide would be more to your liking. Based on what you said, I think this giude would be worth the investment. You probably don't need both, but each has different strengths.

A THIRD option, if those arent't enough is the Guide to Hidden Mickeys book. It may be hard to visualize some of the descriptions before you go, but if you familiarize yourself with the text before you go, you may be able to come off as an expert when you get there, and wouldn't that be fun. You'll at least be able to pinpoint a number of key places to look for them.

Would you recommend the spiral or deluxe edition? Is there anything special about the deluxe besides the price and the holder it comes in?

I think the deluxe edition is a 6 ring binder which allows you to move the pages around and take stuff out. You can also just order refills for it each year if you want. I got the spiral one, it seemed to have all the same stuff minus the binder and pen.

I have never gotten anything except the regular one (Spiral). I have never seen the Deluxe Edition, so I can't answer about that one. The one I have is easy to carry around, because it goes almost everywhere with me.

Now, I just need to start some planning for our December trip. I really like the Meal Worksheet and the Advance Reservations Worksheet, I used those alot. I didn't carry my Passporter to the Parks, because I carry too much other stuff, but I did have it at the resort. I kept my coupon for a discount on a rental vehicle in the pocket so I didn't loose it, and I also made up little cards (self laminated ones) with my ADR info on them and put it in the pocket for each day, then I would put those in my wallet each night for the next day. If a problem arose, I had the info available. When my different documents came in, I would just slide them in the pockets and they were all there when needed.
