Has anyone been able to get a stamp from Castaway Cay and if so did you get it yourself on the island somehow or gave your passport to Guest Services the night before to have them obtain it when customs clears the ship? I have heard conflicting answers on this. On the Panama cruise last year GS did accept our passports to try to get stamped for us but we were unable to dock so that never happened.

Guest Services does accept passports (and gives you a receipt) to TRY to get stamps. They cannot promise, they can only ask the Customs officials at the various countries the ship visits to stamp them. Since a stamp isn't required, it is totally up to the agent.

As to Castaway...I'm not sure whether they can get you a Bahamas stamp there or not.

At Nassau, you can get the passport stamp yourself. At Castaway, your only option is to give it to Guest Services the night before. They will keep your passports in their safe and the Customs agent may or may not stamp it the following morning. The reason Guest Services gave is that the agents do not always carry a passport stamp with them.

Note that the stamp will not say Castaway Cay. Our stamp said Marsh Harbour and here is a picture of it:

Hope this helps!

That is still a cool stamp!! Fingers crossed that I can get one. My passport is filled with worldly stamps but my parents have none and they would be so happy to get one in May. I have gotten Nassau on my own as you said but I'm not sure we'll have time to do so since we are doing the full day Atlantis excursion. We are on the double dip so hopefully on the first day GS can get the Castaway stamp for them and then we wont be crushed if we cant get Nassau. Hoping for pixie dust!

I'm hoping it works out for you! Frankly, how hard could it be for an agent to carry around a stamp and process passports? I can't imagine they deny guests that little bit of pixie dust often. Our entire family got passports for the first time just for our cruise, so it was really important to me to get both stamps. We're going back again this year and I'll be so excited to get them stamped again!

Have a great time on your cruise!!

How does one get the Nassau stamp? Isn't there a building near the port?
Yes, when looking at the Festival Place building from the ship, the Customs office is all the way to the left of the lot on the other side of Festival Place. There is a little guardhouse there with a guard. Just tell them you want your passport stamped and they will let you into the main building!

Yes. You can do a search on google easily for step by step directions but the short answer is there is an office right at the port, as soon as you exit the main area there is a gate you go through and into an office, down the hall, the immigration officer was very friendly and happy to stamp our passports.
