Passport requirement for Eastern??

I was checking in for my 7-night eastern and it looked unfamiliar.....I have applied for a passport, but not yet received one, anyway...I didn't need it for either the 4 day or western I went on earlier in the year...is there a special circumstance for the eastern cruise?? Anyone know? Thank you! If so I need to get on that somehow someway very quickly!!

Here is the latest from the Dis:

IMPORTANT: For U.S. Citizens, if you are cruising to the Bahamas and/or Mexico, you are required to have a passport from 1/1/08 and beyond. However, if you are flying to/from these destinations, you are required to have a passport from 1/8/07 and beyond. Please consider that should you have an emergency while in a foreign port which requires you to fly back to the States, a passport will be invaluable.

If you have booked one of the Transatlantic or Mediterranean cruises, you must have a passport and it must be valid for at least 6 months after your return.

Disney Cruise Line requires that you provide your passport number to them at least 90 days prior to your sail date.

No passport will be required for cruises before January 2008.

There has been a lot of talk of Congress extending the deadline again, but it hasn't happened yet. Veteran cruisers always cruise with a Passport though.

Just wanted to add that the passport offices appear to be catching up and people are getting their passports within 10 weeks of applying.
