Passholder FP question

Hi experts, wasn’t sure where to post this. If I get a Platinum AP and stay off site at a non-disney partner location, my understanding is I can only make 7 days worth of advance FPs (3 per day) in a 30-day window.

Questions:
1. If I stay for 2 weeks, and make all of my FPs for the second week of my stay (thereby using up my allotment of prearranged FPs), what happens when I visit a park before that? Can I get any fast passes once I’m in the park? Can I get just one at a time or will it allow me to get 3 once I’m in there? Or do I just suck it up and do standby for everything?

Thanks!!!

Standby for everything. I learned that when I had FPs booked for an onsite stay in November and added a quick October trip.

No, you would not be able to make any FP+ for the first week, you'd have to do everything standby.

We have gone through your exact situation at least a half dozen times. We have been AP holders, stay offsite at a non "partner" and stay for anywhere from 10-17 days. By far the best way to do it is to get FP+ for the first 7 days of the trip. Then when you're done day 1, the next morning book FP+ for day 8. The morning after you finish day 2, book for day 9 and so on. Essentially your're booking 6 days ahead. You'll be surprised at what you'll find. You won't find the biggest headliners at that point, or if you do it may not be the times you want. However, grab what you can and then refresh on the day of and it'll take care of the rest. We never have a problem getting as many FP+ as we want, at the times we want, for attractions we want, on days 8+ of our trip.

I couldn't imagine doing a day, let alone a week, without any FP+.

Awesome, thank you so much. Yes I was just about to add that as a next question- if we booked FP for week one instead, could we then book more days as we go along and use park days. This info is incredibly helpful.

Thank you so much @Klayfish

Standby everything until the first week of your vacay. I, like others, learned the hard way. I would say if there is a day of your trip where you get rides that can easily be gotten a few days before, just don't make FP for that day. ie, you get Splash Mountain , Haunted Mansion and PoC for October but you can score a FoP in August. Forget October and get the one you want, sooner, then book the FP for your vacay after that day. Not sure if that makes much sense.
