Welcome to the boards. :wave2:

Normally it's better to get passes before you go. There are tickets available in the UK that you'll not get over in the US such as the 14 day unlimited access ticket. You get good prices on all the tickets available in the UK if you hunt around the ticket web-sites.

If you know what ticket you want you can normally get it cheaper than at the gate although you may end up ordering from the US as there is only a limited selection of tickets available in the UK.

we got our tickets from attraction tickets direct. really helpfull, pay in sterling, you can put a deposit down and pay total later, we found them really good. hope this helps,

It depends on how many days you are going to stay at a certain park system.
because we go twice a year, we buy Annual passes for both WDW and Universal, as after around 10 days they pay for themselves. Both offer discounts on renewal as well. In fact with Universal they just "reload" your plastic photo pass into their computer and its ready for your first visit. WDW its new passes every time.
These you can only buy either online direct from the park company or at the gates not via a thrid party.
