I have been looking for a job for over a year (currently working as a consultant), and I was just passed over for a job, again!

Always a bridesmaid but never a bride.

I am pretty discouraged that I send out dozens of resumes, get a few bites but no offers.

Is there something wrong with me or is it the employers?

Anyone else in the same boat?:boat:

It is a tough job market out there, Laurajean, don't give up. When the right one comes along, the right fit for you, that employer will be lucky to have you.

It took me a long time of working really bad small part time jobs to get the one I got today. The only way I got it was that I was willing to work out of town (it's a 45 minute drive to where i'll be working!)

Sometimes it makes me wonder what employers are looking for. My husband has had several job interviews in the past year and he hasn't been chosen yet, either. He is very good at what he does and is a hard worker.

I wish you well in your job search, Laurajean. Don't let yourself get discouraged. You'll get the job when the right one comes along.

I used to apply to different places and they wouldn't call back or this and that and when I am not looking for a job, it appears right in front of me.
Don't give up hope, maybe those jobs are just passing by you and the job that you really want will soon come to you.

I must have sent out about 100 resumes within the past year. I have been somewhat fortunate; I've had dozens of 1st and several second interviews.

I guess I will just have to sit and wait for it to be an employees market out there, and then I can call the shots.

Oh, well.

I'm going for my real estate license soon and then I guess I'll ask Lord & Taylors if they will take me part-time.

My choices are closing in. :(

It is definately a case of too many people looking and not enough jobs. I've been looking to make a change for over 6 months now. I'm lucky in that I still have my current job (and that one is getting better). It is amazing how many resumes get sent and then you hear nothing.

POP DADDY,

I'm not saying I can't get a job, just one that pays more than minimum wage.

Employers don't know what they want and therefore make candidates come back for 3 and 4 interviews, only to find out that employers still don't know what they want!

Hang in there!

You've been given a lot of good advice here that accurately describes the employer job market ...

I wish you well... a good job will come around for you...

Everyone,

You all have been great. The advise you have given me is, "to not give up hope." However, it's not I, that has given up, but rather, employers whom have given up on me.:(
