party theme?

i need help my son is having his birthday party at our local swimming pool. it will be his 9 birthday there will be between 35-40 kids there last year it was 38 kids!! i need some help for a party theme and also what to do for party favors for 40 kids last year it was baseball theme and i did at the ballpark theme for party favors popcorn tubs w/ cracker jacks baseball cards and sunflower seeds!! but it cost soooo much!! i want this party on a budget!! any ideas??

Why not just have a swim party theme? Go to the dollar store and pick up goggles for all the kids. Sounds like a fun party!

I totally agree! Goggles, those blow up sharks/dolphins they usually have at dollar stores... I've seen plates/napkins/cups in a swim party theme. Of course, you could do a Pirate Party . That would be fun. I know that I've seen pirate stuff at the $ store and at other places for cheap.

I do like the swim/beachy theme too. Of course, there is the luau theme, too. What would your son like? Does he care what the theme is or is he excited about getting to spend time with his friends?

I agree with everyone here....Beach/ pool
they have those noodles for 1.00 at the dollar store.
You can get pastic coins(gold) and when the kids are having cake
throw a bunch in the pool and who ever finds them get a
prize...beach ball,googles,water bottle you can even find floats at the dollar store. Or get 38 beach balls and blow them all up.
we had this kind of party for my sons 10th birthday.
I got those big long floats..they were only a few dollars each.
then had 3 relay teams.
The kids had to get on the float and pick up another team mate
and bring them to the other side of the pool until all the team was
on the opposite side...without falling off.
It was alot of cheering and the secret to the game is...actully stradeling the float so no one falls...shhhhhhh. The team that one got the floats.

i can tell u what not to do!! transformers.. that nearly killed my wallet. how about putting pencils and a few pieces of candy in it?
or do the party in ur childs favorite color..walmart sells the solid color plates and napkins and stuff for cheap
