Hi girls,

Was just wondering which of you where going to have a party when they get back?

We are having ours the weekend after we get home but am struggling for ideas as I want this to be slightly different from the norm...

So far we have booked the hall, got our buffet planned, our dj is booked and was going to get some balloons etc.. for decoration but didn't want people to get board.

Any body any ideas on what I can do to make our party slightly different from the rest?

Thanks

Nicci

We're having the party the weekend after our wedding (we only get a 5 day honeymoon, but that's ok ;) ).

We're actually having a garden party. It is being held at a wedding venue, but it will be an indoor/ outdoor event. There are lots of flowers and it is very pretty. Since we didn't want to spend a ton of $, we are just having appetizers and desserts and cd music. It will basically be a cocktail hour that lasts 3 hours. I don't know if that helped, but basically my "theme" is going to be gardens and flowers :)

We are from the UK, so we are only taking about 20 friends and family over to Florida and then having a very large party when we come home.

We've hired a lovely room in the town we live in (the view is the sea!) and we are going to have a disney themed party so that people coming to our UK party don't feel they've missed out too much.

We are going to have a DJ and fork buffet, and I think we are going to get loads of balloons of Disney characters so there is a Mickey balloon table, a Donald balloon table, a Pooh balloon table, a Tigger balloon table etc. We are lucky to have a really great balloon shop nearby!

I've got a friend who is a florist, so she is doing a bouquet for me, and I think we are going to buy some more disney bits, (like mickey confetti that I think I've seen somewhere) to decorate the tables with, to spread a little pixie dust! pixiedust:

We aren't going to have everyone sat in places that we've planned, everyone can just mill around and sit where they like - but our families are both quite relaxed and chatty types!

We are also going to have a projector screen showing photos from the wedding. (Party is a month after wedding - we are having a long honeymoon!)

Hope this gives you some ideas!

We are renting a hall, have a friend who has a band and has agreed to play at our reception, my mother is making the food. We are going to go with a Disney theme also since most people couldn't make it to FL. We are also going to play the DVD we get from STVS so people can see what our wedding was like down there. Good luck on your planning. Oh yea, our reception at home isn't until 3 months later - March 10th. Only 15 more days til the big day!!! :woohoo:
