I am wondering what options I may have missed in my thinking.
We are 2 adults, 13 year old, 10,5,2 at the time we are thinking of going.
So DVC 2 bedroom?
Values are out as DH won't stay there. :confused3 But he said no go to the family suites. So besides 2 rooms anything I am missing?

If you can put your 2 year old in a crib, I think you have more options than you realize.

I think that many of the places that sleep 5 (all the deluxe, plus POR Riverside with the trundle bed) will also allow you to put a crib in the room.)

Then again, I'm pretty new here and not nearly as well informed as most of the people who will post after me;)

My family of six just returned from the Poly where we stayed in one room. They allow 5 in the deluxes plus a child under 3 = six.

You could get a Fort Wilderness Cabin. They have a room with a double bed and two bunk beds, plus a Murphy bed in the living room (double). They also have a full kitchen, which is nice - you can eat some meals there (like breakfast) to save money. They are nice and quiet, too.

If a two bedroom DVC is within your buget, then that would be the way to go.

When our four kids were younger we stayed in the cabins at Fort Wilderness. It was nice to have the bedroom (with a double bed and bunks). You could close the door and not feel like you had to go to bed when the kids did. The kitchen was nice for a quick breakfast, so you're not wasting money on the younger ones who eat so little anyway. We slept on a Murphy bed in the living area (standard mattress...not like a sofa/sleeper!) They are very nice and had maid service!

Next we graduated to two connecting rooms some trips in a moderate, some in a deluxe...whatever the budget could afford. The biggest advantage is TWO BATHROOMS, and it's nice to have the extra room to spread out.

Once we tried the Poly and Beach Club when one of the kids didn't go with us. I wouldn't want to do the Beach Club with six, even if one is under two, but the Poly rooms are hugh and space really wouldn't be an issue. It's just everyone in the same room again.

My personal favorite, since I really don't like seeing a washer/dryer or kitchen while on vacation, is to have two connecting rooms.

Just another opinion. Have fun planning!

We stayed in the Ft Wilderness cabins and found them to be very comfy with plenty of room. It was also nice to have a kitchen for some breakfasts and snacks. I didn't do any actual cooking but it was stocked with pots and pans so we could have!

For our next trip, we want to get adjoining rooms. Still trying to talk dh into that!

A deluxe room would fit 6, but I wouldn't want to try it since you will only have one bathroom for 6 people. Even 5 in a deluxe is a lot with only one bathroom. Not to mention the space will be very limited with a pack and play. If you are able to afford a 2 bedroom villa (or even a 1 bedroom that sleeps 5, no need to count the 2 YO) I would book it. It will be so nice to have the extra room for your family.

You can stay at POR with a trundle

The deluxe concierge rooms at BWI sleep six, two queen beds and a sleeper sofa, and they include access to the concierge lounge

you can do either POR or a deluxe, but instead of a pack n' play, bring an air mattress or 2. Stand them up during the day to get them out of your way, put a kid between the 2 beds and another near the changing area or in front of the tv at night. As long as you're only in the room to sleep you'll be fine.

Our last trip we tried to squish an extra person(my dm decided to go last minute)in a CR room...well, too many people in one room!!! IMHO, since your dh won't go for a value, I would try two rooms in a mod. My personal favorite is POFQ. Your older kids would have a room to themselves and you and your spouse and youngest child would also. The bathroom situation would be much better also!:)

Did your DH ever look at a WL Deluxe room? Only one bathroom, but comes with concierge/club level privleges (including lounge) - it's $$$ but maybe you could try and find a deal on it for your dates:

The BWI Deluxe Concierge rooms also have a beautiful Boardwalk view!

You'll want to get connecting rooms instead of adjoining rooms. Adjoining rooms don't necessarily connect with a door between. They might just be next to each other or across the hall from each other.

You can still fit in the Poly or GF as long as the youngest is under 3.

WL has a deluxe room that sleeps 6. You can also do 2 connecting rooms at a mod. CBR has the largest rooms for a mod.

Does your 2 year old turn 3 before your next trip - if not you can still get in another deluxe room one trip!

When are you thinking of going?

Someday I'd love to try a DVC 2-bedroom! With 6 it's the only way we're ever going to be able to afford a deluxe resort.

In the meantime we've always done 2 connecting rooms, last 2 trips in a value, this trip (6 more days) we're graduating to a moderate.

Good to know! Thank you!

if you can afford a 2 BR DVC, they're amazing...when we stay at OKW, we stay in the 2 BR - 1350 square feet!!!

my problem with the deluxe rooms at WL and the others is that they only have one bathroom...
i'd rather take two rooms and have 2 baths....
