Party of 5's First family trip to WDW! Just back from POR 6/16 *update 8/13 thoughts

Oh your last night. That is always so sad. It sounds like you made it a good one though and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Kona! Love the leis! When we ate at Ohana a few trips back (our only visit to the Poly, so beautiful!) we never got any. The kids would have liked them!

And making 11:30pm is pretty good! My kids would have crashed long before!

OOHH so sad. The last night. When your kids are teenagers they will LOVE EMH's. My DH and my oldest 2 stayed in the parks until 1:30 once. They had a blast. I'm glad you had a good time and enjoyed your visit. Maybe you'll be back before you know it. Life works out that way sometimes. It's been nice traveling with you

I am so depressed all these great TR's are coming to an end!!!

I can't believe how hard it is to give FP's away!! What is wrong with people??!!!

Loved the update, you guys got a lot done that night. Must have been the night we were at Epcot because it rained that night for us too, one of the only big rains at night so that was good! Glad you enjoyed Kona, I love that place, what a nice waiter you had. So sorry it's coming to an end (looks like we're both in the same boat). Can't wait to read about your last day.

Great update! I am glad you liked Kona! It is one of our FAVES! You had a GREAT night at the MK! LOVE the pics. of Emma sleeping in the stroller, so sweet! I am sad your TR is ending I have enjoyed it VERY much!

Annette How many fast passes can you have at any one time. Because I know at Disneyland Paris you can only have 1 fast pass at a time, meaning you can not get another one until you have used the 1st one.

Great TR! Love the matching shirts. We're going in September and so far we have one set of matching shirts. I'm working on getting everyone to agree to another.

We've never attempted FP's as it seems like it requires a lot of coordination but after reading your TR, I'm going to try it this trip!

So sorry that your report is ending too. What a fun late night... using up the FPs from earlier. Sorry you could not close it down... it is hard to do when you are at rope drop that day too!

Thanks ! Yes maybe next time we will be able to stay for an EMH, but it is hard when you are at RD...

Oh Annette!!! Sounds like a great night, but I totally know what you mean about leaving---so sad, you can't even put it into words! We are in the same boat with you--not knowing when we are going back, but it needs to be soon!!! Megan is still asking me every day when we go back to Mickey's house!! I just wish I knew when, so we could prepare ourselves--even if it was a ways away!

I know I have no idea when we will get back, it took forever for us to save for this trip... I don't know how families do multiple trips a year or evenly yearly on one income... Hopefully it will be soon for both of us...

Where did you get those cute ponchos?

I think I bought the kids at the dollar store, and the green one was from walmart and mine was an old disney one.and where did you get those Hawaiin leis (sorry for my spelling)?

The pic of Emma asleep in the stroller is a classic. Who doesn't have that photo in their Disney library? I love Disney at night and can't wait to go! I am so sad your trip report is coming to an end! And I know what you mean about people looking at you funny when giving out fp's. We went to the boardwalk the other night and had to leave early b/c one of the kids got sick. Anyway, parking was hard to get and a car was waiting for our spot within seconds. We pulled out and I got out of the car, walked up to the car taking our spot and handed her our parking pass which was good for the rest of the night. She thanked me but I could tell she was dubious about the whole thing. I told my dh (who thought I was crazy for jumping out of the car) that I believe in karma - what goes around, comes around. A week later, we were on that same boardwalk, and a man came up to me and handed me a Pokemon doll he had just won (but didn't want for himself) and saw that I had kids. Unbeknownst to him, my kids LOVE Pokemon and were in heaven! I thanked the man and turned to my dh and said "see, karma!".

That is what TGM calls the path.... it is bt/w toontown and Tommorland in back next to space mt to the left and comes out in back to the right by the train station...

I would love the DVC, but that would never be in our budget sad to say.

You can only have one FP per ticket at a time (or until the next window opens which it will tell you at the bottom of your current FP)but you do NOT have to use the current FP to get another FP .. doesn that make sense??

Monday June16th Day 9

checking out…. (sobbing)

Ok so we stayed as long as we could last night and got to bed by midnight.
We slept in, no stitch wake up call this morning, we only slept until around 8 I think anyway, took our time getting up. We finished all our breakfast snacks and stuff in the fridge and packed…. I thought the kids might have wanted to go swimming one last time, but they didn’t.

By the time we got everything packed up and organized it was about 10:30, I believe check out was at 11:00. We didn’t need to do anything on that end though the express check out bill was accurate. We loaded up everything in the car, had to make a few trips. It was a very bitter sweet time. We all had such a wonderful family vacation together, this really is the happiest place on earth! And not knowing like some families when we will be able to come back again was hard..

Lauren and Emma still had a few dollars left on their gift cards, so we went to the gift shop one last time and they each found some stuff to spend their money on, I got my neighbor a little thank you gift for watching the house, getting the mail and feeding the kids fishes!

Afterwards we decided to have lunch at the food court one last time too. The kids split some chicken nuggets and we split a sandwich. I wanted one last magic cookie bar but they didn’t have out yet.. If you ever go here you must try this bar!

So afterwards we checked out the arcade, it was very expensive and I am glad we didn’t take the kids in here any sooner than we did, infact if we could have skipped it all together it would have been fine by me. I always feel like if my kids want to do arcade type games then we will go to chuck e cheese.

I also have to say that we have never used the Magical Express bus and don’t know if other resorts are different but the line to “check in for your baggage” was unbelievably long , it probably was a good hour wait. We were VERY glad after seeing that line , that we drove. Could come and go as we pleased etc…

So Dh took one last picture of us right before we got in our car and drove back to Atlanta…

It was an uneventful ride home, very quite in the beginning b/c of how sad everyone was… Emma kept saying she wished we lived in the castle! Me too baby…. We all talked about our favorite rides and moments, then back to reality once we pulled in our drive way.

I’ll post our favorites and final thoughts next.

I think leaving Walt Disney World is one of the saddest things to do!

I can see the sadness in everyone's eyes in that last picture! But that might just be me projecting .

Looking forward to favorites and final thoughts! And I think you should book again as soon as you can!
