OK so last week I made my ADR for my party of 6 (DH, DS-7, DD-4, my mom and dad) now I find out that we may be meeting my aunt, uncle, cousin and her husband and 2 children. YEAH! :yay: But now what do I do? :confused3
I don't know for sure that they are coming and if they do when. Once there decision is made how do I make an ADR for a party of 12? Will it be impossible to get an ADR? We are going in the middle of Dec. so it was just 180 days last week. What are the best places for such a large party, if I can get an ADR? Please help all you experts out there. Thanks!!!

We have a party of 9 going to Disney in December. I was able to get several reservations, but at most of the places they said that we will sit seperate because of our party size. I called at 7am 180 days out and was able to get everything I wanted (which was about 9 different reservations).

Good Luck!

Of course mine won't be 180 days out now but what were some of the locations you selected? Thanks for responding!

If you can't get any ADRs you might want to try Trail's End. It's a large buffet. It's a great value and they seem to be able to get people in without ADRs so they should be pretty accommodating to large groups. Good luck! :goodvibes

I am also going witha party of 12. I would not get anything inside any park without being split into separate tables, mostly 8 and 4!!

A lot of the resort restaurants had tables large enough for all of us, but not for character dining. Of 21 meals, we got 4 at a table together, everything else we are sitting at seperate tables.

We have mostly character breakfasts (Ohanas/Chef Mickey/Crystal Palace/Akershus, Norway/Hollywood & Vine/1900 Park Fare/Donalds Safari, Tusker House) each morning and mostly upscale dinners (Citricos, Yatchsman Steakhouse, Narcoosees, Calif. Grill, Le Cellier, SoA dinner show. Ohanas and Liberty Tree for Mickeys Christmas Party)...snacks/light fare for lunch.

We got 6 reservations for the week, each is for 9 people, sorry I don't know which ones are together or seperate tables, I was just told to ask at check in to be sat together.

Chef Mickey's Dinner
Tusker House Buffet Lunch
Plaza (MK) Late Lunch
Boma Breakfast (YUMMMM)
Teppan Ado (Candlelight Processional package)
Sci Fi Dinner Theater

I did cancel a Teppan Ado reservation for 5:15 for December 17th for 9 this morning.

I would try to book a 2nd table for 6 at the same time as your current ADR. When you get to the restaurant, get there a little early and explain that the two reservations are together. I think they can even link the 2 reservations in the system ahead of time - worth asking about. Then if your 2nd 6 people don't end up coming - you can cancel that ADR when you find out they aren't coming.

I booked for 18 people - and they didn't seem to have problems with a big group at any of the places I asked for - especially Ohana and Biergarten. I told them I was willing to break up the group if it helped to get the ADR I wanted.

Do they let you do that? Is that acceptable? Of course, I would cancel if they end up not coming. Thanks for your reply!

Make the 2nd ADR under your aunt & uncle's name and phone #. (There is nothing wrong with this - if they decide they aren't coming, cancel it as soon as you can. Then it opens it up for someone else.)

If you can't get the 2nd ADR at exactly the same time as yours - see if you can get one CLOSE to the same time as yours. The restaurant can probably still seat you together - arrive early and explain that you want to eat together.

When we go in December - we are at least a party of 14 - might be as large as 18. Some people in our group we just don't know about right now. So I booked everything for 18 people. I can always drop people off later - it's harder to add them on.
