Question - we plan to drive to MK on our MVMCP day. We plan to drive over early, park at TTC and the resort hop till 4pm. My question is, Is there still a walkway from TTC to Poly? I remember staying at Poly when I was a kid and walking from our longhouse to TTC to catch buses to the resorts and DTD and the Epcot monorail. Does anyone know if this is still possible?

I believe it is possible. Josh did a post about it over on easywdw a few months ago.

Hello!

We will be at WDW Dec. 9-16. We were booked at POR but recently made the switch to WL. 'We' are me, Erica, my hubby, DD 4 & twin DDs 2. As well my in laws are flying down to join us. This is my second trip as an adult but first trip as a Mommy. Also first holiday visit. Excited!

I do love Wilderness Lodge. I even considered doing our first day (room only-pre-package) at Wilderness Lodge but it just seemed like a pain to stay for one night when I could stay in the same room for 8 nights instead.....most of our trip overlaps!

Yes there's a path to the Poly from TTC. If your back is to the monorail and the ferry dock is to your right, walk straight through the "booths" and then keep to the right and you'll see the path to your right side

Does anyone think that because of all the online crowd calendars and easy to find WDW info that the parks are becoming more crowded on days that are supposed to be quiet days? Like on the MVMCP calendar that shows when all of us are attending the party, notice how the days that are supposed to be quiet (Tues/Thurs) have waaay more people from disboards attending versus the Friday or Sunday party?

I'm just wondering if most people are still in the dark about crowd calendars or not? Like if it would be smarter to do the opposite of what the crowd calendars say to do? I just remember seeing a post in someone's trip report about how when they went to what was supposed to be a busy park it was quiet, and vice versa. Plus it seems like when I check dining reservations for what are supposed to be busy days at a park there's quite a few available, but for days that are supposed to be low crowd levels there's not much left.

Maybe I'm just over-thinking things....

Here's the link to Josh's post. I keep it in Evernote with all of my Robo maps. :)

I've wondered the same thing, but I still suspect that the majority of Park guests are not as well planned out and not as well informed as Disboard posters (and those that follow other Disney planning sites). While some report higher than expected crowd experiences, others swear by the crowd calendars. I do think it makes sense that the average disney guest will head to the park that is open the longest for a specific day (which usually results in it being a non-recommended park). I know I've been tempted by it more than once because I want to squeeze in every park minute possible.

With respect to ADRs, I also wonder how early the average park guest makes their reservations. Again, Disboard posters are in the know, know what they want and exactly when they can get it. I'd be surprised if the average guest made reservations 180 days out or knew about all the best resturants.

Crowd calendars and most recommended parks are probably less effective than they were a few years ago, simply because of the ease of access to that information. I don't have much personal experience to really say what's worked for me or not.

Good quesiton!

There's actually a section in the Unofficial (TP) book on this subject. The gist is that even with the increase in book sales and planning blogs, it's still just a tiny drop in the bucket. Most Disney goers are still clueless. There has been some shift in attendance to lower seasons but that's due to Disney marketing. As far as particular days, the crowd numbers are mostly pretty accurate. (I've checked TP after our trips.) There are always exceptions of course. We hit one last January where Disney extended MK hours on that day because crowds were higher than anyone expected. No real reason; just an anomaly.

Went to the doc today. Probable meniscus tear. Possible ACL tear. Getting an MRI on Thurs and will know next Wed. If surgery is needed. Not what I wanted to hear at all.

Noo!! Sorry you got that news. I hope it all goes well and no matter what the MRI indicates that you rest up and heal quickly!

Hoping all works out. So very sorry!

I just want to be in Disney World!

I SOOOOOO hear you. This past week has been really bad for me. (Hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel.) I would so much rather be wearing my Mickey ears and ride Dumbo right now with a citrus swirl in one hand, a churro in the other. A pocket full of fastpasses. My DD smiling next to me as she looks in awe out of all that is Fantasyland.

ok I will stop dreaming. Just been a crap week. Might post about it later. Hoping for good news. hugs to all.

I'm sorry you're having a bad week. Yesterday had its highs and its lows, but today is decidedly meh. I can't believe it's only Tuesday.
