PART TWO *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Just realized: now that we moved the Seas Aqua tour from Wednesday to Thursday, we'll be in the MK on Wednesday with no lunch planned. So...I just booked an ADR at LTT for Wednesday lunch :)

Ug! Another one for LTT! :rotfl2: What to do, what to do?

ESPN doesnt take ADRs. I am not sure about the Brew place. I did check their menu too and it looked good. Too many choices!!!!!
The minigolf is behind the Swan. I think it is $10-12, I read it somewhere, but I forget now. If you got a Disney package, you get 1 free round. :thumbsup2

Awesome.....will that voucher come in our Mickey Mail or is it something we have to get with our tickets once we get our KTTW?

Question - if you suddenly had an extra day in your plan - you've already hit all the Disney parks and resorts that you want for the trip - what would you do? Special tour? Something offsite?

Keys to the Kingdom, Wild Africa Trek or Harry Potter world.

I would do a park hop and eat as many of the cupcakes as I could. That would be my only food for the day.......No? Hm.......I think I would like to have seen Ice at the Gaylord. We're already going to IOA/US for 2 days and 1 night so that's exactly what I would do if we hadn't already planned it. We're already seeing Blue Man Group while there and also doing La Nouba :)

Have I not seen your plan??? You are doing everything! :goodvibes

Ice is a good suggestion!

I got the pink-sleeved Mickey shirt last week. I tried on the lavender Tink sweatshirt (it's definitely fleece) but it is very short-waisted and didn't look right on me. It's way cute, though!

I love that Mickey shirt! Yep, the short waisters you really need a long tank top on underneath to create layers.

No idea. This is my first time onsite. I just act like I know everything. :rotfl2:

HA! You crack me up :lmao:

Just read the LTT menu to DH and he said, wow that sounds good. So now off to book it. Although that means I have Boma, WCC, LTT and Ohana. How many all you can eat places can you eat at? But we wont waste any time ordering. :rotfl:

We have a few extra days where I feel we'll be park-ed out, so in one I have pencilled in Blizzard Beach if warm enough, and potentially some resort hopping ending with dessert at California Grill to watch the MVMCP fireworks.

The other we definitely want to do an airboat tour, probably with Spirit of the Swamps to get a Florida kind of feel (since Universal for one day was just sooo expensive, we nixed that). We might couple the airboat ride with a half day at Gatorland (or Gatorland may end up being earlier in the trip, depending on my travelling companions' plans). Also under consideration was going to see the Blue Man Group, but we decided we wanted something Oralando-specific.

That's what I told myself before I knew I had another option. I would keep that room if I had to. But knowing there are 1BDRs available, it's hard to ignore a $1200 difference. Anyway, it's only one kid and he will have an air bed in the bedroom. (If I don't put him behind a closed door he'll never fall asleep.) DSis would prefer her own room, of course. But not for that price.

DSis has heard of people having their ressie cancelled if they had the same names. Don't want to take that chance. I think I'll wait a week. Then if I have to, I'll move half the party to the second room so they have different names.

Honestly, I expect the in-laws to bail completely and probably soon. They're excited about their first time but there's also some apprehension about rooms, rides, the length of the trip, etc. So maybe it will all be resolved soon. It's so weird thinking about this trip without them though since they were the main focus. I think if it weren't for them, I'm not sure I could've convinced DH that we needed another long trip, even for the holidays. He seems content to just go to F&W /MNSSHP every year.
Yeah, for $1200 I wouldn't either, wow ... its so different with points vs cash. Since I own I'm asking my friends who are joining us to chip in slightly less than what it cost me in Maintenance Fees to have a 2 bedroom instead of a 1 bedroom, so about $300 for 5 nights.
The good news is that at least your DH is going to have a nice long vacation! If FIL is driving her crazy, though, then at least she can re-join last minute you can still sleep an 5th person in the living room. ;)
Just a friendly warning... don't venture to the dining reviews... Lord have mercy, I've added all kinds of places to my list... just because some "kindly" person posted pics of things that I thought - "oh, I NEED that"... Like the dessert at Yak and Yeti with the cream cheese and fruit on skewers drizzled with what looks like a heavenly creamy sauce. Who does that?!? And then there was the shrimp poor boy pic at Restaurtasaurus... that name or place had never crossed my mind and now, now it's on my list... I just hope somewhere between eateries I actually ride a ride... it's gonna be an expensive trip!
::yes::I've stopped venturing into the Dining Reports area after I've now added to my list the Sleepy Hollow waffles, some Kusafiri treats, a red white and blue milkshake in MK, and the Garden Tea Room & Garden Grill ADR's. I had previously thought we had "just enough" ADR's to suit us (1 a day seems like overkill to me already coming from Disneyland). Fortunately it won't be too much of a blow to our OOP budget since we were able to get one night on the DP at the beginning of our trip to maximize the value we're using it for Garden Grill, Flame Tree, and Kusafiri.
Those Dining Reports always make me hungry, too! :rotfl2:

All good suggestions. Unfortunately DS10 isn't old enough for the backstage tours and we did Wild Africa Trek last year. (Totally awesome!)

I spent a couple hours today considering HP World. I'm a huge fan but DH is not. However, he's the world's biggest Transformers fan. So we decided to save that for next year when the Transformers ride is in place. :)

How about the Seas Aqua tour?

I've moved my ADRs all over the place...a gal has to have something to do! I really wanted Kouzzina but dh wasn't that "into" it so I "compromised" for his choice of either Riverside Brew Works or ESPN..... on the evening we're touring Epcot resorts. Which reminds me, I don't think we made actual ADRs for that. Do you think we could get in without one? If so I'd have to choose between the two. Any recommendations? Where is the mini golf at Boardwalk and how much is that? We may plan on that Dec 10th.

Big River Grille and Brewing Works does take ADRs but you have to call them directly and I unfortunately do not remember the number. You should be able to walk up as well. They are so good. We are hoping to do a dinner there this trip as well since we are staying at BWV.

Has anyone done this? What's it like?

In 2010 we did Discovery Cove which was pricey but really awesome. I'm not sure if something like this would be be worth it for us.

My fiance told me last night that he may be taking me for an impromptu trip in December. So Excited!:banana::banana:

We aren't spilling the beans to family yet, but I needed to tell someone! :)

3 months from today we willbe leaving:drive:....did a quick reminder to some of my families(I do childcare in home)....1 wasnt happy:confused3 but the others were excited for us. hate that the kids have to miss 3 days of school, but they are all good students and are planning on doing the work before we leave and then hoping for a snow day(so they are ahead and wont have the snow day against the absent number)......WOW, seems a bet crazy to say 3 months, but, 3MONTHS! (Seems a bit shorter than saying the number of days til we leave)....

I would love to join!

we will be arriving at the Reniassance hotel at Seaworld on November 25 and making our way to Wilderness Lodge on November 27 and leaving for home December 3 after MK closes :(

:wave2:

Hello!

We will be at WDW Dec. 9-16. We were booked at POR but recently made the switch to WL. 'We' are me, Erica, my hubby, DD 4 & twin DDs 2. As well my in laws are flying down to join us. This is my second trip as an adult but first trip as a Mommy. Also first holiday visit. Excited!

Three months from now, my partner and I will be at Animal Kingdom trying to get as much done as we can before our early lunch reservation at Tusker House. Once we're done at AK, we'll be headed to MK for our dinner at Be Our Guest! I think this will either be an early night or the night we run over to Downtown Disney.
