Hi Dis Buddies! I could really use everyone's prayers right now. Our back fence got broken into while mom and I were at a funeral in Joplin today and the dogs got out. The neighbors caught one, but our rescue Corgi ran off and we haven't been able to find him. The whole family is sick and worried to death over him, and we could use all the prayers we can get that he'll turn up safe and sound!

Aww, sorry about your Corgi. I hope he is safe and sound at home soon!

So I took the plunge and cut my hair like I discussed many many pages ago. It's quite the dramatic change, but I am a big believer in change being good. :goodvibes

After a long couple days off after my grandmother died, I have returned to two pieces of good news.

1) 30 days left!!! And Mickey Mail came while we were gone....:cool1:

2) The Disney/Star Wars news. Combining my two favorite things...AWESOME! :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother :(

Oh no! I sure will say some prayers that your doggie is found. I can put myself in your shoes and would be just as frantic. I'm sure you've already checked the obvious places.....our pup got picked up by the dog catcher about a year ago and we went overnight without him. I barely slept! But the next day we called the pound when they were open (they had already closed when we realized Max was gone the night before)...and they had our puggle. I hope you have the same outcome!

yes! Change is good! I had my cut and color today too....mine wasn't so drastic, though! I had been going a little more chocolate brown for the summer but the last 2 colors I've gone one shade darker and now it's my "natural" color  I think you need to post pictures of your new do!

What a crazy night! Spent a good 30-45 trying to get my dog away from a possum. Ugh I don't see any bites or scratches on him which is good. I'm now beyond exhausted because of course my husband is working nights this week and of course the only flashlights I have are not exactly the brightest when you are trying to figure out what you dog is freaking out at... My neighbor came out and helped thank god- my biggest fear was something going after me and the kids being alone inside. We have all sorts of wild life up here and ehh I can't blame them for not wanted to be aggravated by my dog...

I'm so ready for a glass of wine!!!

YAY!! Thanks for checking in. We were all worried. Glad you are okay with no real damage. :thumbsup2

Thanks. Surprisingly we did ok. Unfortunately, friends of ours did not. One of their big trees came down on top of their house. It landed right on their bedroom.

My aunt is not doing good either. She's about 3-4 houses from the water on her block. They had a mandatory evacuation for her area yesterday morning. Right now, her house has 3 feet of water in it. She had this problem during Irene and had just recovered from that. She had her carpets replaced and a few other things. Now she has to go through it all over again.

Just saw this on a friend's FB wall. Not sure who to credit, but it sure makes me long even more for a Star Wars land (and NO I don't condone removing Spaceship Earth! hehe)

Checking in. We are all doing good after Sandy. Luckily we suffered no damage and only lost power for a few minutes at a time. There are a lot of trees and wires down around us but compared to other we are very lucky.

We are still waiting to here from the campground in Cape May my parents keep their trailer at.

Glad you and your family are ok. What you described is pretty much the same here as well. A lot of trees and power lines down and compared to others we are very lucky as well. Long Island had about 90% without power. Our electric company was saying that it could be 7-10 days before we see power. So I was surprised when it was only about 24 hours for us.

We've heard from our family members in VA (for DH) and in upstate NY for my aunt and uncle. All are doing ok.

Hope your family is doing ok.

My sister is at Disney and took her 4 year old in dinosaur n tower of terror ride. few friends of mine did the same, I'm not sure If my oldest kid my son he 5 would go, I'm kinda scared to take him lol
Does anyone take their kids on these rides?

The last time we were at Disney was 6 years ago when DS was 4. He had no problem on the dinosaur ride and in fact loved it. But each child is different. DS could take that without a problem, but HM he couldn't. DH and DS did not go on ToT b/c we didn't have time. I won't go on it b/c I can't stand free fall type rides. But they will be making sure they go on it when we go back. And of course, I'm staying behind waiting for them.

Thats ok - we're just happy to hear from you! You are our last check-in and we were getting worried. Glad to hear you're all ok. :yay: :yay:

Hope your DS is doing ok, must be pretty scarey for him.

Not really. He's 10 now and had his first taste of a hurricane with Irene. He couldn't wait to go out with his father to see how Sandy affected everyone. In fact, he asked me if he could ride his bike and both DH and I told him no. There are too many power lines down, too much debris and it was still windy. For safety reasons I did not want him going out.

There is one thing about this hurricane that had me shocked. Sandy hit us yesterday and we STILL got mail! There were hardly any cars out on the road, but the mail still got delivered during a hurricane! And yet today, when everyone is picking up the pieces and back out on the road, we didn't get any mail :confused3. Now that we're in the 30 day mark, I'm looking out for our Mickey Mail!
