When I went to the Disney Vacation page made me SOOO excited.

Oooo that is exciting. I wonder when that starts showing up. I checked and I have nothing right now.

Funny story about that ..... we got a free photo album last year. I had such fun uploading our PP photos and personalising each page with memories about our trip. I had a double spread about our resort with some fab pictures. I wrote about how much we enjoyed the resort and that it was awesome waking up to a giant woody every morning :lmao::lmao: Yep. There in print FOREVER :rotfl:

Oh me gee. We're on highway 70, making the 10 hour drive to West Virginia for a long weekend at my father-in-law's cabin.........and I've had a liter of water.......and I think I peed myself a little reading this!

Which reminds me. There is no cell service NOR Internet there......so for the love of all things holy, keep the chatter to a minimum . Hahahaha! I'm already 11 pages behind :(

Oh no!! :scared1: Have fun!! We'll miss you!!! We could be on part 4 by the time you get back.

Seems to be ... see this post by our fellow roll-caller:

Thanks for the info Wedgie, and you too Val. I guess we just have to wait and see.

I have heard EE is really fun after dark. Not sure if they will do an extra showing of Nemo or FOTLK or not. I dont think the safari and trails have lights so that wouldn't be good. It's Tough to Be a Bug and Dinosaur are both indoors. The Tree of Life might have some lights on that would make it neat to see. Primeval Whirl and Triceratops Spin should still be running. I am just excited to see it after dark since the other parks have such a different feel after dark.

Kilimanjaro Safari will definitely be closed. I read somewhere that they shut it down an hour before sunset so they have time to get all of the animals inside before dark. I have no idea about the trails though. :confused3

So I found some pretty cheap flights to Tampa instead of MCO as I'm trying to fit in as many people (party of 6) into our rewards points from signing onto the Southwest Airlines 50k per card promotion (2 cards). It's about double the distance than MCO I figured might be same time travel since we were gonna do DME anyways. I'm kinda disappointed though, I was looking forward to riding the DME to our resort. Anyways I just wanted to let out my frustration because rental cars are soooooo expensive this year! =( sigh.... Has anyone done taxis during a busy time of the year at Universal?

Have you tried booking the rental car thru Southwest? I've flown into Tampa twice so far this year and each time I booked my rental car thru Southwest's site. I paid $9 a day one time and $10 a day the other. Now this was for an economy size, but I think the most expensive was $15 a day for the large SUVs even.

This is the thread of enablement (is that a word?)... I ordered 3 fleece pullovers from disney today with free personalization and free shipping for $15 each, and a toy story sippy cup for $1 and a plushy 5" villain for $4.78 and split a 2 for $30 t-shirt deal with my mom. Great deal but without all of your continued shopping support, I would not be so excited about my package coming. So I thank you even if my bank account does not. :-)

I can't believe it's already 38 days! I still need to figure out more of the new camera, finish planning book and invitations... fortunately my MIL lent me her Cricut and I have the mickey and a princess cartidge. I'm not a scrapbooker (yet?) but I'm having fun!

My Cricut won't cut! :::stomps feet:::

Oh man...I guess it's a good thing I won't have Internet access from tonight until Monday! I love fleece pullovers!

Uggh. So behind on the boards. I'm out of town on business (in Columbus, OH) so I don't have my normal downtime to surf. Now, just sitting in the hotel relaxing. Good news is, it's 39 days to WDW!!! :cool1:

Me too! As a matter of fact we'll be driving through Columbus in about 4 hours! Once we get past Wheeling we'll supposedly lose cell service :(

So I've been looking at my ADRs (I haven't done it recently, and I want to rejoin the ADR party :cool1:), and I realized I have 4 dining credits per person ununsed. I'm thinking of leaving them unbooked, and using them for QSs in parks for lunches, and for breakfasts, unless anyone has any better ideas.

Meals currently unplanned:
Three breakfasts (parks planned: HS x2, Epcot x1)
Four lunches (parks planned: Epcot, AK, MK, and HS (but we'll be in Epcot noon-3PM on a tour, and unable to stay in Epcot after the tour))
Arrival day dinner (we have a 2PM lunch ADR in Epcot, but we'll be in the park late for PM EMH).

Obviously with eight meals unplanned but only four dining credits per person available, we're short some dining credits. But I'm thinking/planning/hoping that since we're be eating a lot at each meal due to the DxDP we'll be able to get by without a true "lunch". Plus, we have a ton of snack credits that we can use to get us through between breakfast and dinner. Unless we use snack credits for some breakfasts, and then do a true lunch in a park.

FWIW, meals planned:
Breakfast: Akershus, Tusker House, Crystal Palace, CRT
Lunch: Rose and Crown, Liberty Tree, Via Napoli
Dinner: T-Rex, Le Cellier, California Grill, 'Ohana, BOG, Sci-Fi

We plan on using snack credits for many breakfasts.......I consider a cupcake breakfast food :lmao: one credit for a cappuccino one for pastry/cupcake. It looks like biscuits/gravy at our food court is a snack credit. Chicken fried rice at AK is a snack credit. Soups are snack credits as well as side salads. There's a thread on the DIS that lists all things listed as snack credits!

I really dont have that many. I have a big Mickey and Minnie, like "24. Then my friend was having a baby and I got her a smaller Mickey, but they were 2 for something, so I got myself a smaller Minnie, maybe 12". I was debating taking her with us, but it's kinda sad that she is all alone. So now I think I need Mickey and Minnie in their holiday pajamas and they can both come with us.
Just went and checked how big they are. 17" seems awfully big?? They also have holiday Mickey and Minnie that are only 7". That would be better for travel, but they arent as cute. I have issues.

I got an Eeyore with my last order but he needs some friends........I think they will all look splendid on our bed. Hmmmmm :::thinking::::

I consider a cupcake breakfast too. I plan on maybe dessert or leftovers from the night before being breakfast some mornings too.

I made an excel spreadsheet of the snack credit list. I took out the resorts we won't be visiting.

All over the place. Every resort has them in the lobby area. I know at Epcot, they have them at International Gateway, at the main entrance outside the front gate to the left near the restrooms, and along the walkway between Future World and World Showcase. :thumbsup2

Thanks! That's what I needed to know.

Yes they do! They're all grumpy but if I don't do it, they'll be sad. It's kind of an odd ritual. But they have to get up so we can go cut down a Christmas tree.:santa:

We have two places out in Eastern Long Island that do that. DH and I had done it the first 3 years of our marriage. Then went locally to pick out ones that were cut after DS was born. We've started going back East again in the last 2 years since DS is now older. We have a lot of fun doing that.

Anyone plan on taking a swim?? Im hoping it's nice out to let the kiddies take a little fast swim! So excited for the AOA resort! Can't wait!!!! 49 more days!!

We're not. I think it might be too cold to go in. DS, OTOH, says he wants to go in

:coffee: morning everyone...

I think I'm adding another Christmas tree to our house...

the ornaments on the Disney store site are killing me! I love them all! Especially the jewel colored with the paisley prints and rich tones...

Anyone have an all Disney tree?

LOL! You sound like a friend of ours. When we went over her house during Christmas, you would see a tree in every room, including the bathroom.

Down day? What is this you speak of?

:rotfl2:

Not tltorrez but had to chime in because I'm in love with my Silhouette. I had a cricut and about a dozen carts and it sat mostly untouched for 2 years. I've had my silhouette for a year now and I use it nearly everytime I scrapbook. It's just so easy. My blade is just starting to dull after a year of frequent use (though I've never tried anything thicker or more complicated than cardstock). I use a PC. If you're decent on a computer (which I'm sure you are as a graphic designer) you'll have no problem using it. There are several online classes out there, as well, that will give you tips on how to use the machine and the software. I'm signed up for one starting on 11/1. Hoping I learn a few more tricks. Apparently, the American Crafts glitter paper works really well, but I haven't tried it yet

Thanks so much for responding! Your blade has been good for a year?!? :scared1: I really don't know much about the Cricut, but when I borrowed it, I had to replace it and about 60 pages of cutting later (6x12), I replaced it because it ate 2 sheets of expensive paper. Maybe I was premature, but I didn't want to have to go to the store for more glitter cardstock if it ate more sheets.

I think you just sold me even more. And I hate the stupid cutting mats--you don't use one on your Silhouette, right? Only 25 or so full-page cuts and you have to replace the stupid mat. Also, I hate being forced to do layers like they want. I could save so much paper if I could control it. I'm sure some of it is operator error on my part, but even still.

Where are you taking your class? If I'm going to buy this machine, I definitely want to know how to use it well. I'm a whiz on InDesign and decent enough on Illustrator, so when I saw a clip with their software, I felt very comfortable. Thanks again for responding. I was feeling a little angsty about shelling out for a machine when I could deal with the MIL/SIL to borrow the Cricut, but since it would only take about 30 projects' worth of cutting mats and blades to cover the cost, and don't even get me started on the cartridges, I think it will be a good deal for me.

Oh man...I guess it's a good thing I won't have Internet access from tonight until Monday! I love fleece pullovers!

You have a Cricut and it sucks? And I agree, cupcakes are a breakfast, lunch or dinner food. I'd totally skip a plate of pasta for a cupcake. Hmmm, odd since I just told DS3 ice cream isn't a lunch food. Disney exception to the rule...

And anyone planning on swimming, if you can fit it, bring a bathrobe. My son took swim lessons last year and it was a life saver on his way-too-skinny-no-body-fat-for-warmth frame going from the pool to change. I would think any heated pool the water would be ok; it's the dash back to the room that could be torture.

I had my Silhouette out this weekend, working on DS's party decorations. Inspired by Kathy, I went looking for ornament frames in the die cut store. And I found three cute little frames shaped like Christmas ornaments. I'm thinking to cut them out of metallic or glitter paper and then paste the character pics in the middle. Should be simple and lightweight but will look much cuter than the paper circles I was planning.

Oh...Disney crafts are the best! It's getting close now so this just builds the excitement! I'm out of town to Chicago next weekend so I won't get any craft time in this weekend or next :(. I think your ornaments will pack better than mine too!

Tofubeast: Love the new thread disclaimer

Tltorrez: You have a Silhouette?!? Can I pick your brain? I've been thinking about getting one. I love borrowing my MIL's Cricut, but the other DIL borrows it too and there's a whole issue/story there, so I'd rather avoid that. Also, I'm a graphic designer and while I love all the cute graphics that you can get for the Cricut, not having the freedom to do what I want really irks me, as does the $50 per cartridge and endless cutting mat costs. So how do you like the Silhouette? Any issues I should be aware of? Do you use it on a mac or pc? How often to you have to replace the blade? How often does it eat paper? TIA!!! And FYI Target had some really cute glitter cardstock, 2 pieces for $1.

I have the original Silhouette. I bought it discounted right before the Cameo came out. I haven't used I as much as I would like, but honestly - I live it. And every time I use it I think if more things I could be using it for. I really want to learn to do more, like print and cut. There's a couple of classes I really want to take but for now Im using it and loving it.

I use it on a PC. I wanted one that hooked to the computer and didn't use cartridges, mostly because with my Sizzix, most of my dies were alphas. I wanted a machine that would cut the bazillion fonts I already own. But since then I've actually bought other designs that aren't alphas. Things that I would not have bought for my Sizzix because they're so cheap. For example, I needed to make 3 3-D flowers for school. I found a cutting file in the online store for 99 cents. Even if I never use it again, it was totally worth not having to hand-cut the layers. Plus I can edit or resize anything. I bought a template for a gift card holder and then edited it so I could cut the pieces out of different colors without wasting paper. I haven't replaced the blade yet. The cutting mats are taking some we're though. I ate a lot if paper at first but I eventually realized I wasn't getting a clean cut because it was set too deep. Once I lightened it up, things were much better.

Mine isn't 12x12 like the Cameo. I wanted 12x12 but couldn't justify the cost. But now I'm pretty happy with the size. They have a new machine now called the Portrait. Same heavy motor as the Cameo but smaller size. Seems like a good deal. Mine has the older motor but I figure Ill just cut what I want and if I burn out the motor, I'll just replace it with the new one. Only issue is its loud. The new one might be quieter though.

Hi everyone:goodvibes

I haven't had a chance to read all the new posts, but I just wanted to check in with everyone!

So, the good news is that my husband is back:cheer2: (He was on a fishing boat and not scheduled to be back until next week Tuesday)

The BAD news is the reason for his early return - we live in Abaco, Bahamas and we've started having some really windy, rainy weather in the last few days, which will get worse as the week progresses because Tropical Storm Sandy is coming towards us...should be here by Friday or Saturday:headache:

Just pray that it goes a bit east of us out to sea!!!

Prayers for you all!

Oh, and um, just a small announcement... :mic:

37 days to go!! Wahoooooooo

:dance3::dance3:

I've been oogling those "bohemian" ornaments too! I'm having a 4' prelit tree in our resort room. If I buy it here I'll probable figure out how to pack it otherwise I'll get it from Walmart dot com and have it sent to POR. Then I'll prob just donate it to someone coming after me. I'm going to have to get a good look at them at Walmart first. They're $20. I always buy a couple of the Halmark Disney ornaments every year. My fav has been the It's a Small World one :)
