PART THREE! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

BIL was talking about seeing the animals while you eat and I said well, I'm going in December so it will be dark at 5:00. But I didnt know they did lunch at that point, so when I saw that I went for it. Might be a little too exotic for DH, but BIL thought he would like the ribs and he said the naan is delicious. Great idea to hit them both while you are staying at AKL.

I also think of it this way - you can always ask the server to put sauces on the side or use less spices.

Target has lots of glow stick things in their dollar area. Including wands and swords! I picked up necklaces and a wand and sword for DBF and I. I also got hand soap from Method in a Minnie Mouse head for the hotel room.

Does anyone have any advice on pre-paying for PhotoPass or PhotoPass+? I'm considering the Plus. DBF and I have very few pics of us together. He won't be going on most of the rides that are on the Plus with me. But we do have HDDR and CRT booked, and this is our first real vacation together. This is one of those things I'm waffling over.

48 days until we leave!!! :cheer2:

We are going with PP+ it's a big family trip for us and I look forward to having the memories, we are doing CRT, Chef Mickey's, HDDR and Akershus. Plus I now don't have to pull out my camera for all the PP photographers. I plan on getting a list of the magic shots, and stopping at every place possible to get a pic.

38 as of today and Mickey Mail will soon arrive!

Phew, I think I'm caught up. Need more coffee! :coffee:

So, I'm fairly certain knowing how much planning we all do that I am about to scandalize people, but I actually further pared down our scheduled plans so we can be a bit more spontaneous. No Hoop De Doo, no La Nouba, no MVMCP. If we want to do one, we'll attempt to get tickets while we are there, or just pass.

I was talking to my mom, and she really wants to just enjoy being there, with me etc. So, I present to you, the bare minimum plan. I think it is still more involved than most folks, but for an over planner like me it is woefully pared down!!! :scared:

Dec 10: Plane lands at 2:45. We're either going to MK for MSEP and fireworks, or to HS for Fantasmic. We'll decide when we get there!

Dec 11: 9:30 a.m. ADR at Chef Mickeys! Going... wherever we want! I suspect MK.

Dec 12: 12:25 ADR at Sci-Fi, so I suspect we'll be at HS all day. But if we saw Fantasmic on the 10th... who knows where we will end up!

Dec 13: 6:15 La Cellier ADR, so we'll at least be at Epcot for Dinner!

Dec 14: Last Day. Nothing planned. Not a darned thing. I'm thinking about making an ADR for breakfast (we'll have a TS credit left at this point). Maybe Kona? After that it's wherever the breeze blows us! I might *gasp* wait to make that ADR until we are there.

Dec 15: DME picks us up at 9:00 a.m. or so. Sniff. Sniff.

Sounds like a great plan:goodvibes

We love Kona for breakfast! (so much that we actually have 2 ADRs there!)

Just thinking to myself here...what about a character breakfast? Would your mom think that is fun? That way, depending on which one you pick you could do some resort hopping...two ideas:

Friendship boat from DHS to Cape May Cafe with characters in beach wear. You could get off at some of the stops to check out different resorts on that loop on your way back after breakfast.

1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian) with Mad Hatter, Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, Tigger and Pooh Bear. Since Grand Floridian is on the monorail loop you could ride the monorail around for the view or get off at some of the other resorts to check them out (this also goes for if you make a Kona reservation!)

Anway, those are just some ideas....

How could I forget?!? I didn't share my pants-excitement with you guys.

I am vertically challenged, my hubby is convinced I am secretly a hobbit.

I'm 4ft 11 and finding trousers (pants, although to me pants = knickers = panties) is almost impossible because even petites don't fit me because I am all torso and my legs are ickle.

But I found an awesome pair of yoga-type pants in Target and they do a 'short' length and they fit

Seriously, that is big news for me :teeth:

They do all lengths and I think they will be super comfy for Disney so go have a look girls (and guys, you know, if thats your style). Yummy Comfy Pants

AND there is a 'hidden pocket' although hubby thinks I won't be able to find it

My mom is 67 and is now 4ft 8. She used to be 4' 10.5"/4'11" (she could never remember which), but as she got older, she found out that she shrunk down to 4'8" when she was measured at her doctor's office. She has the same problem you have with pants. It's very difficult for her to find anything and she'll sometimes kid around saying she has to go to the children's department to find pants that are the right length. Manufacturers really don't make a petite petite in pants (I've only seen that in shirts).

Oh Wedgie, (lol) I'm 4' 10-11ish too!! I feel your pain! Sometimes Capri pants end up being my normal pants =/ there's no Target within 250 miles of me it I'd be heading that way as I speak. Congrats on that great find though!!

Sorry you don't have a Target :( You do have a computer though ;) Buy them online :)

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll go check out 1900 Park Fare and Cape May Cafe. We're doing Chef Mickey's on our first day, but additional characters could be fun!

:headache: DS10 has not had a very good start this year with school at all. Some of you may remember in the Dec roll call Part 2 thread that DS broke his wrist over the summer, sprained his ankle last month and had problems with his allergies. Well, now another thing has been added to this saga.

DS lost one of his back baby teeth last week. Ok, so that's normal, right? Not in his case. The tooth came out but the roots did not. Thankfully he had an appointment scheduled for yesterday (yep, on a Sunday). The dentist (who also doubles as DH's co-worker at the university medical library's IT systems dept), finds that the roots did not come out and it's starting to swell, which is what was causing the headaches he was starting to get. In addition to that, 3 other baby teeth had to be extracted to avoid having the same issue. I gave him 2 Advil last night right before he went to bed to help with the pain and to help him sleep (he gets very drowsy when taking 2). He was still in a little bit of pain today and I gave him an Advil to help ease it. Since I volunteer to help serve lunch at his school, he will be due for another one at that time. Thankfully, I can give it to him since the school cannot without a doctor's note.

This poor kid has had nothing but problems since August. He's never missed so much school (which started last month) in the first 2 months as he has this year, let alone gym class. And we go away to Disney in 38 days! I'm praying that we don't have anymore issues from this point on!

CALGON TAKE ME AWAY! (Anyone remember that commercial?)

LOVE that dress. Its gorgeous :goodvibes

Me too but I've already had a full pot and I keep telling myself I will cut down.

Thanks :) I have another one similar to that I'm bringing. It's white, yellow gray and black with a swirly almost flower like design. prAna makes such great clothes I just wish they were not so expensive! So when I find good sales I try to hop on them.

I need more coffee too- I've given up the idea of cutting back :)

Yikes!! I have never heard of the roots not coming out!! Poor kid. Can you wrap him in bubble wrap until the trip? :confused3

Your poor boy  He's had a really rough ride. Hope the dental issues work themselves out

It looks like AK hours are being extended in Jan-April 2013 too. So maybe, it's just a new thing they are trying and not related to crowds at all.

Wow and I thought 90 miles was bad! I am fortunate enough to have EMS and the Gap for clothes about an hour away.... If I shopped locally my choices would be Walmart and Farmway!!

:rotfl: That's what we've been saying! It's better to wrap him in bubble wrap! If it's not one thing, it's another. I just want off of this rollercoaster!

So do I. DH has had bad teeth since he was a kid. I'm hoping DS didn't inherit that from his father or there might be more problems as he gets older.

Ouch! Your poor son. When I was 8 I slammed my face into a toilet (long story) and knocked one of my baby teeth out and had the roots stay in. Thankfully my mother got me to the dentist that evening so it didn't have time to get too bad, but I can still remember that pain. Hope he is feeling better soon!

Yay! :yay: I certainly hope they are just trying to extend the hours permanently and that the crowds aren't going to be too bad my dates. I did notice that even with the extended hours none of the crowd calendars (UT, TP, etc) had increased the crowd levels for my dates.

Oooh what dress did you get?

Speaking of online check-in .... will you? I'm not sure of the benefits tbh. Last year when we got to the resort it took less than 10mins to check in, we went straight to the desk but the online check-in desk had a line.

I didn't see much benefit either. But also no downside. Just less to do when you get there.

I'm considering online check in too. I've heard great things about people's rooms being ready early in the day (all though I don't think I've ever waited after check in for a room). We will be there about 10am after driving all night so it would be awesome for the room to be ready when we get there. Would love to hear pros and cons from others that have done it before

I haven't seen any evidence that suggests online check-in affects this. From what I understand, the rooms are assigned ahead ( not sure how far) no at check-in. So availability if your room depends on the people checking out and mousekeeping. When we arrived early our room wasn't ready but we were expecting that so chevked our bags and we went to lunch.
