I went to Target last night under the guise of getting a get-well gift for a friend who is in the hospital. I did get the gift (a Mickey and friend Xmas mug with a spoon), but also said I was getting a set of Mickey-head-shaped Xmas lights for her when really those are for our room in AoA. I'm planning on putting them up while she's in the shower, probably on the second day, since we might have to change rooms (just a one-night reservation for that first night). I'm so glad I was able to get them!

Good to know. It's just hard to know what to expect since I haven't been to WDW since 1985.

Good morning!!!! I have a ton of work to do today.
Opened my Disney store order from last week and it is so cute!!!! I got the Santa Mickey and Minnie 7". They are really small. Kinda wish they were bigger, but they will be easy to pack. I got my niece an art case thing with Tink and Minnie Mouse pens and a stationary set. They are all awesome!! So much better in person and bigger than I thought. And she'll never know I paid half price. Just need to come up with something as good for my nephew.

That is my DH's must do too!! We did it last year and I HATE bugs. I guess I can suck it up and let him choose one attraction.

You'll be fine! Yes, it will be crowded (Disney always is) but it won't be unmanageable. The good thing is you have an early ADR at CRT which means you can roll straight into the new FLE afterwards and get that done and out the way before the crowds turn up. We are doing the exact same thing on the 8th Dec.

ETA: ooh we'll be in DHS on the 9th too .... I'll wave

I've been reading, but haven't had time to post. My thoughts are with all of you who have been going through difficult times. Thank Goodness you have a Disney trip coming up soon to cheer you up!

I'm still obsessing over my itinerary. DH finally agreed to have a conversation with me about our plans and suggested that park-hopping might be too much with the little one (DD5 and DS4). So I think that we're just going to do DHS and MK and save the other parks for our next trip. I hate to cut out AK, but DS only talks about Star Wars these days and spends all afternoon using anything he can find as a light saber.

Reassure me that the crowds won't be too bad on Dec. 9 and 10. We're doing DHS on Dec. 9 and MK on Dec. 10, neither of which is a recommended park for the days that we are going. My plan is to be there at park opening (DD5 and I have an 8:05 CRT reservation for our MK day), take a break in the afternoon if the crowds get too bad, and then return for EMH.

See you there. I think it's wise to take a break during the day! You'll be fine!

So excited about this! One of the things that I was disappointed about missing at AK was Santa Goofy, but he's going to be at Osborne Lights this year! Can't wait!

Thanks for posting!! I love Santa Goofy. The character area at AK is kinda hectic so we will be avoiding it, but I will get a pic with him at Osborne Lights! YAY!!

I'm also excited that in an hour or so we'll be headed up to Chicago for a weekend trip with 3 of my 4 sisters and my step mom. I wish the Disney Outlet store wasn't 1.5 hours from where we will be staying but I'll be sure to find the Disney Store on Michigan Ave!

In 36 days we will be just landing......I will have just slurped the last of my Bloody Mary I'm deathly afraid of flying, thus the adult beverage.

I'm sad because we are staying the first night at RPR so no ME for me for the first leg of this trip. We'll get to take ME on the way back though!

yum, I love, love Bloody Marys! That's my favorite part about going to NASCAR with DBF! I'm not afraid of flying in the least, but that's my drink of choice anyway...

We're not doing ME either or getting Mickey Mail... two strikes... we're staying at the Hilton in DTD so at least we're within walking distance!

Good morning all! Another busy morning for me, made more fun by lack of sleep due to seeing Wreck it Ralph at midnight last night. For anyone wondering, I really liked it. It had plenty enough to keep kids entertained, but a lot if the jokes are about older video games that kids may not get, but adults will! I was really as was everyone else in the theater.

<warning, sarcasm ahead> Oh, there's more that I just found out last night after posting on here. I may not be able to get back on Sunday Reason? The New York City Marathon! The mayor has decided that this will still take place! So many people are in an uproar saying it should be re-scheduled/postponed. The City still have several places without power or food and others that have lost everything and are staying at hotels. They're still recovering from Sandy. One DISer posted that her refugee cousin was told by the hotel she is staying at that they have to leave today (Friday) to make room for the marathon! You gotta be kidding me!

I'm leaving around 8 am Eastern Time this morning. I won't be able to check back here until I get back (don't know if that will be Sunday or Monday now).

I saw on the news this am that families who have been displaced by Sandy are now being asked to leave their hotels because the rooms are needed for marathoners. That is not right! Not to mention the fact that resources that could be used in recovery efforts will now shift to the marathon.

LOVE myfitnesspal. Good to see others utilizing it. I attribute the majority of my weight loss to that wonderful app.

I have been thinking about trying myfitnesspal. I would like to lose at least 15 pounds. Doesn't it have a feature where you can connect with other friends who are also using it - sort of an on-line support group?

So, we are 42 days away from our trip, which would be a lot more exciting if I did not have three giant cases to wrap up before December 14th! Ugh...I want to send our clerk a note explaining that I need to free up my schedule so I can obsess about my Disney trip. Somehow, I don't think my judge would appreciate that. Went by Dollar General b/c Im looking for things to put in our window at POR and found a pink princess santa hat and a mickey and minnie one so I grabbed one of each for DH and I!

TP has DHS at 5 out if 10. Honestly, DHS never really goes below 3 so that seems fine to me. MK is a 5.5 which seems really low for an EMH/non-party day. (This is so low I actually double-checked to make sure I wrote I down correctly.) I'd say this is a good call.
